Hi again.
working on my 2nd Character and have really grown fond of Bows. I said in a previous thread that I did not like them, but after a more extended usage I’ve gotten the hang of them, and I am having a good bit of fun.
I am coming to you guys because the advice I got before has been invaluable in settling my NB tank, and I consider this thread http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/pve-nb-tanks-for-starters-compendium-of-information-theory-and-insight-2-0/ to basically be the Bible for NB Tanks.
Looking for some basic comparison between Nightblade and Templar for Archery. a few notes regarding this:
1) I wish to use a Bow on both bars. Not debatable. I want my character to be an Archer, not a “bow on the back bar just because” Wrecking Blow spammer(sorry if this sounds rude, but pretty much all the advice I see on reddit and the official forums about Archery is “2H/Bow build”). I’m building my character around the Bow, and will find space for most, if not all, of the Bow skills on my bars, depending on the situation (solo, dungeon, pvp, etc.)
2) What I want from the character is to be able to do decent ranged damage as a Stamina build, but still be able to swap out skills to bring some Support to the table when necessary. solo and in open-field Cyrodiil I’d like to function as a stealth-based skirmisher/pvp scout, while in dungeons/keep defending I’d like to be able to sacrifice a bit of stealth for group support functions. In this instance, I classify support as “Buffs, Debuffs, and Crowd Control,” with a small bit of emergency off-healing (mostly in PVP for the emergency heals). I freely admit that I’ll never actually be relied on for healing and any little bit of healing I can do is merely a bonus. I’d like to focus more on the damage and buffs/debuffs/CC. I guess my major debate in this regard is the merits of giving up superior stealth options (cloak, NB Crit-from-stealth Passives, surprise attack) for Repentance and Shards, and if that trade-off is truly worth it in the long run. because I DO so love my sneaky sneaky.
3)Not necessarily looking to be “given” a build to play, I am more than willing to try and figure out what works for me based on the information available. what I am looking for, is some notes from general experience from players who have played NB Archers, and Templar Archers, as to the general way each class functions with a Bow in their hand. and a general comparison of the two classes as Archers. pros/cons, that sort of thing. It’s all about the aim and shoot, but there has to be SOME playstyle differences that I need to be aware of.
thanks in advance!
*edit* Also, in the interest of not clogging your forum with a 2nd thread, what, typically, are the initial Champion Point investments for an Archer? say…the first 60 points or so, where do you typically put them?
