Sorry if this post is in the wrong spot. I have been playing quite a bit of Cyrodil and engaging in PvP lately. So to the point… Does anyone play a succesful “counter-attack style” build?
It seems most battles, especially smaller ones, are all about burst damage. Flying in 3 or 4 big moves hopefully getting the kill. Maybe it is the only way, maybe we have a sheep mentality or maybe somebody is making something different work?
I’ve been told since I started put all my attribute points into stamina or magika, rely on health enchantments for hit points, and go on the offensive. Hit first, stun or bind, break down, kill……. It really isn’t my style of choice. I have been working with a couple of my DK’s trying to utilize blocking and health regen, and to some extent a Templar with their heals. I feel very succesful and valuable in large scale battles, however in the smaller ones, or one on one not so much.
I would very much like to design a character who could withstand the opening burst, counter attack with some force and maybe win a fight that lasts longer than 30 seconds. My current thoughts are to split attributes 75-25, or 50-50 with health, use heavy armor, shield, and all the damage shields that go with things for the DK. I could try the same with a Templar, but when I play a Templar to me they just beg to be the offensive…. (so I am leaning more towards the DK for this idea)
Anyone attempted this? Having any success?
Thank You,
