I played this game when it first came out and quit right around the time when they started focusing on the console release. I logged in once when the Champion system went online, but I haven’t been following it at all.
At various points I played an Imperial DK tank to VR1, a Breton Mage tank to VR12, a Nord Templar tank to VR11, and an Imperial NB tank to…37. He didn’t make it very far. I remember some Nightblade buffs were coming out and I thought a tank build would be interesting, but I quit before he could make it.
Anyway, when I played, the game was like the wild west. You could do almost anything on any class. There were arguments to be made for tanks of all four classes, which is why I tried all four. Is that still the case? Can someone give me a quick rundown on the state of PvE tanking? I know the PvE content was never terribly difficult, and people frequently didn’t even run with tanks, but I like tanks…
Also, based on the characters I have, which would you recommend I continue going with?
Imperial DK (first character, went Imperial because it was special at the time)
Breton Mage (started out as a pure mage, so I went Breton)
Nord Templar (they had just buffed Nords to have the 6% damage reduction passive, so Nord seemed like a good choice)
Imperial NB (they had just announced the higher stat pools, so Imperial seemed like a good choice)
And if there’s just a widely regarded “best combination” of race/class for a tank, I wouldn’t be averse to starting over.
Thanks!
