What is with newbies refusing advice?

To start things off I say “newbie” in the least derogatory manner possible, strictly to describe new players.

Now, onto the topic at hand: What I don’t understand is all these new player’s refusal to legitimate advise. Now, this isn’t me just randomly approaching new players and telling them how to build, goodness knows that would annoy me as well, what I don’t understand is in zone chat when someone complains about an aspect of the current game, how mad they get when you give them advice.

Here are some examples:

Just recently a player was commenting on how he’d love it if there were PvP Arenas and smaller-scale PvP instances. While I agreed with him, I also let him know that you can set up duels in Cyrodiil with opposing faction members, to which I got the response “Yeah, well, that’s too much work.” So, I proceeded to advise that if he preferred smaller-scale scenarios (1v1, 2v2, 3v3), that he join a dueling guild as it will greatly speed up the process, to which I got the response “Too much trouble. I want to duel my friend and not re-roll a character.” I don’t quite understand how someone can complain about an aspect of the game like this when they’re making zero effort in-game to achieve what they want.

Another example I see often is people complaining about their class, specifically (in these cases) the Night Blade. The player was complaining that his build was too squishy, he was rolling an Archer Night Blade. He was having issues with a quest boss, saying he was getting constantly 2 shot. Every time I gave him advice (utilize dark cloak, sneak attack stuns/bonuses, dodge roll, block heavy attacks, change up his bar set-ups, etc etc) he would just reply with “no, doesn’t work.” So I told him maybe he need to upgrade his gear or level a bit more and level to which he responded with “No, that takes too long”.

Another would be people giving out false information, such as stating that DKs should ONLY use heavy armor, how Templars apparently have 0 dps, NBs should only be in medium armor and how Sorcs should only ever be ranged. I would reply with the fact that one of the biggest features of ESO is the amount of diversity it gives you for morphing your builds. Any class can use any armour and any weapon. I’ll state that DKs can, in fact, use Light Armour and utilize the Destro and Resto staffs effectively, and other statements to a similar effect, to which I will instantly get flamed for and my advise discounted.

Is this what B2P has done to the community? Is everyone now just a WoW Fanboy who expects everything to be handed to them? I just do not understand how you can complain about an aspect of any game without first making an effort to either get around it or change it.

Well, my rant is over, have any of you had any experiences like this where new players are just insanely ignorant of the game and refuse any wisdom you wish to bestow upon them? Or just any experiences in general regarding all these new players?
