Is there a "Right Way" and a "Wrong Way" to build?

Hey guys!

So I have been playing now for just two weeks, and I have observed a lot of contrary advice from many skilled and knowledgeable players.  I’m now a level 33 Imperial DK, and seem to be learning and progressing at a good pace.  A lot of the advice I have gotten has been good, but some of doesn’t seem to mesh very well.  I’d like to pick your brains here, with the following caveat:

ESO seems to be a game in which there are many paths to the same destination, and the challenge-levels are geared towards an acceptable approximation of ability, not necessarily the ‘1337 crowd’.  So that being said, I am not asking if there is an optimized way, just a way that works given the game’s casual focus.

So first on deck- Stat Allocation for the Dragon Knight Tank Role?

Some folks have told me, invest in Stamina, Stamina, and more Stamina.  However other folks have told that is a bad way to allocate, and that advice is meant for DK DPS and the now-obsolete(?) Blocking Turtle builds.  They’ve advised me to either build a balanced allocation along the lines of 1:1.5:1.5 or a 0:1:3 build with gear that adds Magicka.  Because Crowd Control is a necessity for gathering mobs, I can see why investment into Magicka would be rewarding, but the question is how much?  ‘Nothing!’ like the Stamina folks say?  Or a small balanced investment supplemented by gear?  The supporters of a balanced allocation also say it works better for a dedicated tank, while the Health/Stamina supporters say I’ll be more useful switching back and forth between Tanking and DPS.  I confess I lean more towards the former, as I have very little interest in DPS and am having much more fun as a battlefield control tank.

Next is a question aimed at preparing to gear up for the post-50 game.  I plan on wearing two sets of 5+ gear for benefits.  I have fallen in love with the Bahraha’s Curse gear, and find it suits my playstyle as a tank perfectly, particularly in how often the Snare/Damage/Heal benefit processes, it’s brutally efficient!  But I am torn for what other set I wish to prepare getting.

Right now I’ve got a set of Ashen and it’s fun to see the fires go off, but I don’t think it necessarily adds anything to my tanking as opposed to being a DPS feature.  I was intrigued by Twice-Born, but haven’t really experimented much with Mundus benefits yet.  Everyone says Armor Master is the bomb, but it seems to me that I’d want to have Defensive Posture (or morph) slotted into both bars to make benefit off of it?  Twilight’s Embrace seems like a very good way to make use of my DK healing benefits.  But Hist Bark and Spectre’s Eye also seem really strong contenders for a dedicated tank.  What are your thoughts on any of those choices?  Is there anything else I might have missed and should consider?

Even if I do not take Twice-Born, what Mundus benefits tanks the most besides the (seemingly) standard choice of Atronach?

I think that’s it for my questions.  Thanks for your help and advice!

Tagging @Casnation and @mrowmrif2 because they’ve been really awesome in offering thoughts so far!
