Afterlife of Races

I have decided to take upon the task of aligning the correct afterlife for the races of TES for possible lore and RP reasons in the future for ESO. I will be adding more information as I research more often, any assistance would be appreciated for sources and other discoveries.

First of all I want to clarify the Dreamsleeve- It is a generic form of spiritual reincarnation for spirits who do not make a bond or are affected by any sort of pull of the soul,. For example: An Imperial dies, his soul goes to the Dreamsleeve and his energy is put into Mundus (the spiritual part of Nirn) the soul can find its way back into the physical being of Nirn and be reincarnated but however is not guaranteed.

Now when it comes to Daedra, each has their own plane of oblivion, which souls are sent to if they become bonded or made a deal with the specific daedric prince. Ie: Noctural, Hircine etc.

Altmer- They are primarily apart of the Dreamsleeve, however they have a twist as for their own beliefs that the Aedra in the world were Altmer that  ascended to godhood, as is the goal for most Altmer. Otherwise if this process is not completed, they will be reincarnated to live again.

Argonian- The Argonian’s believed that through death you became one with the Hist. The Hist defined the lizard part of the Argonian’s genetics, similiar to the Khajiit’s half form with the cat. The more an Argonian was connected to the Black Marsh, and The Hist, the more likely they would become one with the spiritual energies of The Hist and its effects on future generations. However, an Argonian less bonded with The Hist, would most likely be thrown into the Dreamsleeve.

Bosmer- The Bosmer afterlife differs the most from others. When Yffre (first of the Ehlnofey) died, a Bosmer witnessed him become apart of the earth and therefore refer to the Ehlnofey as “Earth Bones”. Bosmer therefore theorized in their own religion that they return to nature. Possibly connected with the Dreamsleeve to be reincarnated, but through nature’s choice. Not every Bosmer will become reincarnated, but rather their own spirit becomes one with nature again.

Breton- No specific Afterlife, They go to the Dreamsleeve.

Dunmer- Dunmer possibly can reach the Dreamsleeve in very few cases in lore. The majority pass away and the ashes of the Dunmer represent them passing on, to be with their ancestors. When they reach the ancestral home, they watch their descendants from a spiritual presence in perhaps to assist them sometime in the future, or await for them to join the ancestral ranks. (The call of the ancestor racial is connected to this bit of lore).

Imperial- Goes to the Dreamsleeve, or if more connected to the Nord bloodline, to Sovngarde.

Khajiit- The daedric prince Azura plays a role in the Khajiit’s afterlife. When the Khajiit’s predecessor Nirni, wished to give birth to her children, she had no place for them to go, as they were still forming into the beings they would become. Azura comforted her and binded them to the Lunar Lattice. The Lunar Lattice is a different word for Mundus. Therefore they will go to the plane of Mundus in a different way/path than the standard Dreamsleeve path when they die.

Nord- The famous afterlife of the Nords, was mostly clarified in The Elder Scrolls game: Skyrim. Where it is a place that a true Nord will go to, to finally prove themselves to sit amongst the heroes of battle and war. If they fail, they are usually swept into the Dreamsleeve to go at life in another try. Sovngarde also allows the people who succeed to go back into life again through reincarnation, to enjoy a human life once again.

Orc- This is another race that is more bound to a Daedric Prince. When an Orc dies, his soul is pulled towards Malacath’s realm. However if the Orc did not prove his worth in life, and dying in glory. He would most likely be swept into the Dreamsleeve for a chance to earn a spot in Malacath’s realm once again.

Redguard- When a redguard dies, he is sent through spiritual  trials of the gods. Through the assistance of Tu’whacca Yokudan God of souls, they would attempt to find their way to the Far Shores. That was a supposed paradise for all redguards that past the trials of the gods and gained a sense of worthiness. However, if failing, they would like most races be swept into the Dreamsleeve.

Hope this was helpful in building a backstory or assisting with lore :D, more information if found would be helpful!
