Hi guys and girl!

I play the templar tank since the beta and after a lot of experiments i was able to create this build.

Before explaining everything in detail i’ll just do a little premise…

The templar tank can be focused on two different aspect: the offdamage tank and the off support tank.

I prefer the second one because i think that is easier for a templar to give support on the group without sacrificing its tanking that doing of dps.

This doesn’t mean that is impossible and i often switch to off dps to give an hand if needed, but if you have a good templar healer after you its better if you heal while the healer use a second bar for dmg and cover your back.

Even tough i prefer the second i love to be a brutish tank that can withstand every thing so i don’t like to spam skills that can make me vulnerable… if i could i would trough the sword and use two shieldXP

Here is my stat combinations without skills buffs and pvp buffs:

Ok, now i’ll write my build:

  • Attribute points: 20/22/20
  • Race: imperial
  • Champions point: Blessed and Elfbornspell shield, block expert and 20 in heavy armor focus (then 20 in bastion)mooncalf, arcanist and healty.
  • Armor: here i have as a core 5 footman (jewellery+ hand and belt) and 2 bloodspawn with reinforced (found it like this) then i switch between whitestrake retribution and twice born star. If i need an insurance in the fight and the fight is not super long i use the first, other ways, if the fight is long and i know well the fight and the group i use the second.
  • Mundus: the lover and the lady.
  • Pots: tripots
  • Food: with a good group and the twice born a regen food for the 3 stats. If the group is not up to it or with the whiterstrake max on everything.
  • First bar: ransack, defensive stance, radiant aura, breath of life, channelled focus and empowering sweep
  • Second Bar: inner rage, consuming trap, caltrops, radian aura, shuffle, and solar prison
  • Other useful skills: the templar is a master on the  adapting to various situation… you shouldn’t touch the first bar, but on the second one you can easily replace 2 or 3 skills. Total dark is a really great skill to use in fight full of caster, puncturing sweep can help on the dps, extended ritual can improve the healing that you can provide to the group, blazing spear can add dps and help the melee, low slash can help with the dmg control… There are really a lot of skill that can make you an exceptional tank and help the group, but you need to take your time in learning all the fight you will encounter and pros&cons of the various skills at your hand.

I hope you will try out this skill and give me your feed back^^
