Hi all
Not sure if you noticed, but DB buffed the Lord Warden set in two ways:
- 50% chance to proc (for 10 sec) when hit
- When it procs, allies (including yourself I am assuming?) get around 4K extra spell AND physical resist (used to be only spell resist)
Unless there is a cooldown on the buff, this should mean that the uptime of Lord Warden is going to very close to 100%. Can anyone confirm if there is a cooldown or if this buff stays up (do not have Lord Warden yet).
What does this mean for DK tanks?
- We can reach armour cap in Gold Heavy Armour + Reinforced shield, without relying on Volatile Armour (one more skill on the bar). Can anyone confirm if Lord Warden stacks with Volatile Armour?
- We should be able to reach Armour cap in Medium Armour by keeping Volatile Armour + Lord Warden up
- With 2H (reinforced)/5L + Reinforced Shield + Volatile + Lord Warden – we are going to be very close to Armour cap in Light Armour (and we would reach it if we ran with 1 Physical Resist piece – for example Pariah or a Master/Maelstrom Sword)
Is Lord Warden the new monster set for tanking (replacing Engine Guardian as BIS)? With only 2-4 slots (i..e Lord Warden plus either a set bonus from either 2 set or single Master/Maelstrom) required to reach phys/spell cap – we are left with a LOT more flexibility for the rest of the slots, potentially getting much higher resource regeneration or even DPS?
Bye, bye Hist Bark, Armour Master, Spectre’s Eye to get max resist? Doesn’t this deal the final death blow to Footman’s too?
Alternatives?
- Seducer
- Willow’s Path
- Tava’s Favour
- Black Rose
- Imperial for the shield (combine with Trinimac)
Other ideas:
- 5M/2H medium DPS style tank viable now (going Briarheart, Syvarras Scale and Lord Warden for example)?
- 5L/2H light armour DPS style tank with Julianos + Willpower + Master/Maelstrom + Lord Warden
