I am working on levelling up a Stam Sorc. Since you often see people “tank” as a werewolf in PUGs (and screw it up, obviously) – I am beginning to wonder if it IS viable to be a werewolf tank – with the right gear…
So, I am playing around with something like this and thought I would get input from you guys:
Race: Redguard
Attributes: Everything into Stamina
Champion Points:
- Green: Max Warlord, then mooncalf
- Red: Equally in Elemental Defender / Hardy
- Blue: Max out Mighty – then smear rest into reducing enemy physical resist etc
Gear:
- 5 x Heavy Tormentor – Allows us to taunt in werewolf form
- 5 x Saviours Hide (available in VR16 now)
- 1 x Alessias Bulwark Sword + Shield
- 1 x Maelstrom Two Hander
Bar 1: 1H/S Boss tanking. Reinforced Shield, Defending Sword
- Bound Armaments
- Shielded Assault (our taunt and resist buff)
- Heroic Slash (increase Ult Regen for more werewolf)
- Critical Surge (self heal)
- Hurricane (more self heal, important mobility so we can constantly charge/taunt)
- War Horn
Bar 2: Two hander – trash. Maelstrom
- Bound Armaments
- Critical Charge (its a taunt now – and it helps us self heal!)
- Executioner
- Turn Undead
- Evil Hunter
- Pack Leader (because enemies will attack those two wolves, reducing my damage taken)
Bar 3: Werewolf tanking
- Hircines Fortitude (self heal)
- Feral Pounce (a taunt that allows us to stay in werewolf form longer)
- Howl of Despair (to buff our group)
- Claws of Life (more healing)
- Rousing Roar (source of brutality, but wont be using this much)
This is still highly experimental – so please chime in with any ideas… Could this be viable not just for veteran dungeon speed runs, but even trial off tanking? We shall see…
