Hello Tamriel Foundry, longtime Elder Scrolls fan here, about to jump into ESO. I have done some research on the game, and was hoping to ask for your thoughts on getting started. I like magic charatcers, so I would like my first character to be focused on magicka damage. The two classes that caught my eye were Magicka Sorcerer and Magicka Nightblade. I plan on splitting my time between PvE content (quests, delves, group dungeons, etc.) and PvP, both while leveling and endgame. I know each classes likely have their own utility they bring to groups and have their own strengths/weaknesses, so on the whole, which class could you recommend? Or would dragonknight or templar fit what I’m looking for better?
I have played MMOs before (WoW, SWTOR), so I know endgame damage is mostly based on gear/skill. I’m not necessarily asking which can max dps under the most extreme circumstances, but for the sake of a newbie, if you had to pick one magicka class, which might be more suited to both PvE and PvP? Is there one that excels in PvP and one that excels in PvE? Is there one perhaps more suited for both? I like to do as much as possible with one character before starying a second, so given my schedule, I can only focus on one for now, hence the question. Thanks in advance!
