Welcome everyone to my Sorcerer Magicka PvP build that is focused on dueling and small scale PvP. With this class you can succeed in all the 3 PvP aspects. Your sustain in resources is excellent, while you can put out great damage and at the same time you are very mobile. My goal with this build is to push the bounderies to find out the best combination between these 3 PvP aspects. With the champion system we can push these 3 all the time. Do you get more recovery because you gained 50 champion points in the last month? Maybe get more spell damage on your gear! This build is based for players that have atleast 240 champion points. I post this build here to encourage players to start dueling as is it the best way in becoming a skilled PvP player. For EU players there is a guild called Arena and for NA there is Legend that organise duels.
Build in action
Race
To start off there are 3 races that suits this build the best.
1. Altmer
– 10% increased max magicka
– 9% increased magicka recovery in combat
– 4% increased elemental damage
2. Breton
– 10% increased max magicka
– Increased spell resistance
– 3% Reduced magicka cost of spells
3. Dunmer
– 6% increased max magicka and stamina
– Increased Fire Resistance and 3% increased max magicka
– 7% increased spell damage with fire effects
Attributes / Mundus stone / Consumable
Attributes
62 magicka / 0 health / 0 stamina
All our attributes will go into magicka, a sorcerer don’t need any health as your shields (the more magicka, the stronger your shields are) and mobility will protect you from incoming damage. It is really important to focus on keeping your shields up over damaging your opponents.
Mundus stone
The Atronach
This is for sustain, I take this because the extra magicka (The Mage) or spell penetration (The Apprentice) are less important in the way this build is setup.
Consumable
V10 Blue Drink that increases your magicka and stamina recovery
Another place were we get our sustain from but also our mobility. Bolt Escape and it’s morph’s already gives this build great mobility, but with the high stamina recovery from the drinks you can dodge roll and block more often to get way less incomming damage and a ‘guarenteed burst’ on your opponent.
Gear
Setup
5 Light / 1 Medium / 1 Heavy
I use this setup to benifit from the Undaunted Mettle Passive in the Undaunted Skill line. (2% extra max stamina, magicka and health for every different armor type)
Items
I’m using the following armour sets:

Ability Bars
Destruction Staff (1st ability bar)

1. Crushing Shock (Destruction Staff, morph of Force Shock)
– Our main damage ability we use to get shields off our enemy’s or interrupt them while they are channeling a spell, weave this with light attacks.
2. Crystal Fragments (Dark Magic, morph of Crystal Shard)
– Only used when procced, it’s important that this ability hits your opponent around the same time as velicious curse is about to explode.
3. Hardened Ward (Deadric Summoning, morph of Conjured Ward)
– Our main shield against all attacks, 100% uptime.
4. Velicious Curse (Deadric Summoning, morph of Deadric Curse)
– Our timed burst ability that works against every player.
5. Streak (Storm Calling, morph of Bolt Escape)
– I prefer offensive playstyle, for the stun, damage and get nightblades out of stealth.
U. Dawnbreaker of Smiting (Fighter’s Guild, morph of Dawnbreaker)
– Great instant high damage ultimate, at this moment broken because the DoT can come with the initial hit. 60% extra damage vs vampires, R.I.P.
Restoration Staff (2nd ability bar)

1. Healing Ward (Restoration Staff, morph of Steadfast Ward)
– Our healing ability for if opponents manage to get some health down.
2. Shuffle (Medium Armor, morph of Evasion)
– I choose this over Thundering Presence, shields aren’t mitigating any resistance and with this build we have enough stamina recovery to maintain this without any sustain issues
3. Harness Magicka (Light armor, morph of Annulment)
– Our 2nd shield that works against magicka opponents and helps us with extra resource management.
4. Structured Entropy (Mage’s Guild, morph of Entropy)
– Our Spell Damage Buff ability and can be used in combination with high damage ability’s to get extra 20% damage.
5. Deadric Minefield (Storm Calling, morph of Deadric Mines)
– Ground cover
U. Shooting Star (Mage’s Guild, morph of Meteor)
– Great damage ultimate used in combination with streak to stun the enemy just before they get hit.
For small scale we switch 1 ability:
1. Deadric Mines for Proximity Detonation (Assault, morph of Magicka Detonation)
– Small scale is all about mobility, find a hiding spot to activate Proxmity Detonation go back in destroy your opponent(s) and reduce the amount of enemy’s you have to kill. Very strong in combination with Velicious Curse and Dawnbreaker.
Champion System (based on 240 points)
The Tower: Magician 29
The Lover: 27 Arcanist | 10 Mooncalf
The Shadow: 13 Tumbling | 1 Elusive
The Apprentice: 1 Spell Erosion | 18 Elfborn | 11 Elemental Expert
The Atronach: 10 Staff Expert
The Ritual: 40 Thaumaturge
The Steed: 10 Block Expertise
The Lady: 10 Hardy | 10 Elemental Defender
The Lord: 50 Bastion
Extra
– Vampire: No
– Werewolf: Yes
– Alchemy passive Medicinal Use 3/3
– Use Tri-Stat Potions, Stamina Potions or Detection Potions
– Ignore nirnhoned stacking perma-blockers
– If you need more magicka sustain, switch 2 Cyrodiil’s Light and 2 Adroitness for 4 Healer’s Habit
– If you sustain is not an issue, you might try Spell Damage Enchants on your jewerly.
My Stats (non buffed + buffed)
The more champion points, the more magicka, stamina and health you will have. These screenshots are taken with 409 champion points.
