I’ve been playing since beta and STILL haven’t done much in the way of dungeons — just the first 9 in normal mode, and most of those soloed when it still was easy to do so.
So I’m thinking that random PUGs might be the way to go at first, speccing as a healer, because:
- I’ve healed in other games.
- My main is Breton sorcerer around CP 330, and I’ve leveled resto staff to 50, resto staff skills at least to the morph point, etc.
- Healers seem to always be needed in random PUGs, so people might be more forgiving of sub-optimal play?
Are there any general tip threads on that? E.g.:
- I’m sure I can find descriptions or videos of each dungeon online if I want them, but recommendations of good sources could still be useful.
- I could still use tips covering things like communication (I assume just group chat because a random PUG won’t have voice), UI/add-ons for watching teammates’ health bars, and stuff like that. This part of the discussion may be platform-specific (I’m on a PC).
- I don’t exactly know what pledges are like, or what the requirements are for doing them. I know the basics: You go to a location in your alliance’s main city to pick them up; the main reward is a key that you can later use to open a loot chest; the location is a group dungeon. But how that relates to an ordinary dungeon run I don’t know.
