Aegis By Poniard is a serious role-playing guild with strict role-playing parameters and a unique drafting system. Aegis By Poniard is an attempt as a serious role-playing guild designed with the idea of taking members and assigning them a partner. When joining Aegis By Poniard, you will be assigned either as a Shield or a Dagger. The assignment does not require that you use either a shield or a dagger, more than it is just a label to your role with respect to your partner. Roles are assigned depending on the play style of the character. Damage focused characters will normally* be designated as a Dagger. Where-as defense or support focused characters will likely* be assigned as a Shield.

*Exceptions may be made depending on prevailing circumstances.

This, being an attempt at a serious role-play guild, has strict rules when it comes to interaction with the guild.

1. Guild Chat will be Disabled
   • Instead, members are to communicate with other members using the mailing system
   • This rule is still being ironed out, in the occasion this guild become big enough to amass an army for Alliance War in Cyrodiil
2. Always remain in character when with the guild
   • When with the guild, you should always remain in-character. There should be very little reason why you should ever break character or speak in OOC
   • This rule is, of-course, not enforced outside of guild interaction, but it is encouraged
3. Advertisement is encouraged
   • A system is still being set up to safely allow members to invite outsiders into the Guild
   • All advertisements should be done in-character and if announced through zone, have a reasonable explanation as to how
   • When inducting members, make them fully aware of all rules
   • Referring members will increase your, and your partners rate of rank advancement
4. Try to be with your partner as much as possible
   • When interacting with the Guild during events or meet-ups, make a strong effort to be with your partner
   • Partners are assigned, unless you and another member wish to be paired and are not already
   • Pairs must, and will always be Dagger and Shield

During events or meetings, it’s understandable that partners will not always be online at the same time. Due to this understanding codes will be in-place to allow role-play to flow with minimal disruption. These codes are as follows:

1. “My partner is on a mission.”
   • This would give reason as to why your partner is not with you in a role-play sense without having to explain that they are off-line.
2. “Can I speak with you about a private manner?”
   • We really do want to enforce the withholding of all things OOC, but understand that there are exceptions. With this understanding, this code would prompt the two involved to leave the area so as not to look strange when they both stop interacting as much.
     • All OOC conversation should be done through private messaging

With this guild still being in its infancy; all of these rules are subject to change and more will surely be added.
