Hey everyone! For a long time the idea of a stamina sorcerer has been looked down upon by the ESO community, at least in regards to effectiveness in PvP, and so I have taken it upon myself to try my hardest to form an effective PvP Stamina Sorcerer Build! Everything I’m about to list down below is my theory, and what I’m working towards right now! I definitely plan on updating this as the build matures and as I begin to fine-tune it! I really hope to create a great Stamina Sorcerer build to add a bit more variety into PvP! :)

This build is intended to be used for raw DPS, and so will use using the 2h/Bow combo. Unfortunately, however, a lot of its DPS will be focused around using Wrecking Blow. This is as a result of the lack of stamina morphs for Sorcerer DPS skills. So far, I have come to realize that a Stamina Sorcerer build will not be using too many of it’s own class’ abilities!

Anyway, here I go:

Race/Attribute Points (M/H/S)

Bosmer Vampire – I chose Bosmer primarily because of its stamina passives, seeing as how Sorcerers already get a nice magicka regeneration buff in their Storm Calling skill tree: Capacitor. Vampire is a nice addition to this because of their passives: Supernatural Recovery (for the additional stamina and magicka regen), and Undeath (for the damage mitigation).

I plan on going with 0/0/50 for my attribute points, however I will probably respec them in the future and replace them where needed. The reasoning behind this is that your stamina abilities scale with your stamina, and so the more stamina you have, the more effective your DPS and Heals will be.

Mundus Stone

Warrior – I chose the warrior stone for the simple reason that it increases your weapon damage. So … yeah.

Armor – Type/Enchant/Trait

Notes: Essentially what I plan on rolling here is a 5M/2L armor system with 3x Shadow Walker for the weapon damage and maximum stamina, 5x Hunding’s Rage for the weapon crit, max stamina, and weapon damage, and 3x Ashen Grip for the max health and weapon damage. Other sets I have considered replacing Hunding’s Rage with are: Skirmisher’s Bite, and Shrouded Armor. The thought behind the Shrouded Set is that you could technically get a free, quick heal by equipping 5/5 Shrouded and toggling Overload on and off quickly. Also, the “Divines” trait increases the effectiveness of your Mundus Stone passive, and I believe it stacks up to 5 times, please do correct me if I am wrong. With “Divines” on my armor, I should gain even more weapon damage from the Warrior Stone.

Weapons

Two-Handed – This skill line seemed like the obvious choice to me for this build seeing as how it contains a gap-closer, a DPS/CC ability, a finisher, and a damage buff/heal. The weapon type choices for this would be either the Greatsword, for the additional damage it gets, or the Maul, because of the fact that it ignores a portion of your enemy’s armor. Personally, I would go with the Greatsword.

Bow – This seemed like the logical secondary weapon as it provides an option for ranged DPS, along with the opportunity to regen your stamina with heavy attacks at a range.

Ability Bars

Bar 1 (2H):

  1. Critical Rush
  2. Wrecking Blow
  3. Executioner
  4. Rally/Critical Surge
  5. Bound Armaments
  6. Clouding Swarm

Notes: Critical Rush is the obvious distance closer, it increases in terms of damage the farther distance you are from the target. Wrecking Blow, unfortunately, you may find yourself spamming because of the lack of DPS abilities that use stamina that Sorcerers have. This is not discounting its effectiveness though, as it does apply Empower with every hit, and has very good alpha damage, along with it being invulnerable to bashes (excusing Power Bash) despite its cast time. Executioner is the given finisher, especially seeing as how it increases your 2h ability’s damage on low health targets, and begins to scale at 50% health. Rally and Critical Surge are both useful weapon damage buffs, however I am in favour of Rally over Critical Surge. Critical Surge is a neat idea to use with Critical Rush, because of the fact that Critical Rush is always a crit, and thus will always heal you when Critical Surge is active. The downfall is that this heal is only guaranteed when using Critical Rush, whereas Rally is a constant heal and can even be used as a burst heal when spammed. On top of this, Rally has a 30 second duration as opposed to Critical Surge’s 20 second duration, however I am definitely trying both out to come to a more sound conclusion. Bound Armaments is one of the only stamina morphs available to Sorcerers, and is a toggle buff. It increases your maximum stamina, and the damage of your heavy attacks, on top of increasing your Armor Rating. Clouding Swarm is the morph for Bat Swarm, the Vampire Ultimate. Essentially it turns you invisible while the Ultimate is active. The theory behind this was Critical Rushing into a group, hitting Clouding Swarm, and then Bolt Escaping out. I have not been able to try this out as of yet, but am very excited to do so.

Bar 2 (Bow):

  1. Poison Injection
  2. Elusive Mist/Ball of Lightning
  3. Spiked Bone Shield
  4. Resolving Vigor
  5. Bound Armaments
  6. Greater Storm Aronach

Notes: In a perfect world, a heavy Bow attack combined with Poison Injection should be your opener, before swapping to 2h and charging in. Keep in mind that from my experience, the sneak attack stun and bonus only apply if you are adjacent or behind your target while stealthed. Elusive Mist and Ball of Lightning will be used to escape bad situations, I have not unlocked Bolt Escape yet and have not morphed Mist Form to Elusive Mist yet, and so I am unable to choose the better of the two, however I am leaning towards Ball of Lightning for these reasons: It spawns a ball which absorbs all projectiles shot at you, it stuns any enemies in the area when you activate it, is an instant teleport, and is not impaired by roots. Hardened Ward is a given, it’s the only damage shield you really get as a stamina sorcerer. Resolving Vigor is the given heal for pretty much any Stamina DPS heal IMO, the only downpoint is that it takes so long to grind, however I have heard that in the coming month or so, it is being changed to only require Assault rank 5. Until you unlock Vigor, there are other abilities that are also acceptable: Unstable Clannfear, Dark Deal, and Invigorating Drain, however I advise against using Invig. Drain as your only heal! Refer above for Bound Armaments. Greater Storm Atronach is a useful ult. for the stun on impact, along with giving out some nice DPS. Other Ultimates I have considered for this bar are: Energy Overload, and Soul Assault for some greater single-target DPS. Spiked Bone Shield is definitely a better choice over Hardened Ward for a stamina build for the simple reason that it is based off of your max health, therefore it does not scale with magicka, whereas Hardened Ward scales off of your maximum magicka, which will lead to a very weak damage shield and ultimately you just wasting your magicka (Thanks to @Drgneb for pointing this out).

—> In case Bound Armaments sucks <—

It has definitely occured to me that Bound Armaments will make nearly 0 difference in my build and so just in case this happens, I plan on replacing BA on the 2H bar with Invigorating Drain for an additonal stun and heal. On top of healing you, it also returns your stamina, and so in theory it should make your resource management a bit easier. For the Bow bar, I would replace BA with Magnum Shot. It creates a 12 metre gap between you and your target, on top of stunning them. This 12 metre gap is wonderful when paired with Critical Rush.

Conclusion

SO FAR I have not grinded enough CP on my VR Toon for it to actually make a difference, so as soon as that happens I will add in a section for Champion Points. Essentially just put points into anything that will balance out your weaknesses. This is my first time posting a build, so hopefully it isn’t too painful to read! This Sorcerer is still a MAJOR work in progress, it was just an idea that I figured I would post, so feel free to criticise the hell out of it!! Any advise given is extremely welcome and I hope you enjoy!!! I included lots of links for all of you to have easy access to anything I’m using. I am also still working on the Passives this class will use since she hasn’t unlocked them all yet. Current Progress: Level 33.

Take care everyone!
