Build Objective:
This is primarily a farming build, capable of farming bosses and public dungeons solo (possibly at some point group dungeons). I haven’t attempted malestrom or trials or any of the big end-game content with this character, but the skill bars could probably work there, if I ever attempt it, I’ll update it. However, this is meant to be a character for making money so it’ll be using craftable gears, easy/cheap to create potions and no food.
Race:
I use Nord for the health/resistance passives, but high elf should be an equally good choice. But I just love Nords… I often use the race even when it’s the worst choice, so use whatever race you find ideal.
Attributes:
64 Magicka | 20 Health | 0 Stamina
I haven’t actually found the perfect sweetspot on this yet, so this very tweakable.
64 magicka, 0 health, 0 stamina is a good choice and was used until I hit level 50, it’s pretty easy to make a mistake and die in dungeons with that set up, so I changed it. However, if you’re very good with bar switching and animation canceling, etc, this may be the way to go for you.
I’m currently running 44 magicka, 20 health, 0 stamina and find that it’s much better for solo and allows for more mistakes (which I make a lot of).
At some point I’d like to try 32 magicka, 32 health, 0 stamina, but I’m worried that it would make magicka pool too low, so for now I’ll say the official build attributes is 44/20/0.
Mundus Stone:
The Lord (probably going to change when I get into the mood to do more tests with others)
Gear:
As I said in the objectives section, I’m only using craftable gear on this toon and haven’t yet attempted any of the bigger end-game content, such as White-Gold Tower, Arena or Trials, so I haven’t put this character in the position to get any of the monster sets, except those dropped by field bosses which I haven’t put much attention into. However, if there is a set dropped by field bosses that you feel would be a good addition for this build, let me know and I’ll try it out!
2 Heavy armor – Cuirass and Shoulders
5 Light Armor – Everything else
1h+shield
resto staff
2 resto staves are also a perfectly usable combination as the skills for bar 1 does NOT require any specific weapons, but I find the extra blocking power to be worth it.
My current set is 5 pieces Shalidor’s curse, 2 pieces Magnus’ Gift. Infused with Health enchant on big pieces, divines with magicka enchant on small.
Magnus’ Gift, Sharpened 1h weapon, Magnus’ Gift reinforced shield.
Magnus’ Gift Powered Resto Staff.
All with poison enchant, however I doubt that’s the best choice, so play around with your weapon enchants and let me know what works
Abilities:
First bar, 1h+shield (or resto staff):

This is the main bar and the dps bar. It doesn’t put out a lot of DPS compared to other classes, but for solo templar, I think it’s perfect.
1. Puncturing Sweep – Anywhere but against bosses, this skill is almost the only one needed. It does okay damage and also heals you.
2. Blazing Shield – Against trash mobs, I’d say not to bother with this, if they can’t damage through your puncturing sweeps it’s pointless, however, if the enemies are doing more damage than you heal with punc sweeps, keep this skill up at all times.
3. Blazing Spear – This is a good “start” attack, hitting enemies to initiate the battle is almost the only thing I use it for.
4. Restoring Focus – Same as Blazing Shield. If you’re not healing through sweeps, keep this up at all times. If you find you’re really hurting for magicka and not health, try using the Channeled Focus morph instead of this one.
5. Inner Light – I keep this on all bars for all of my magic classes except Dragon Knight (DK’s Oblivion doesn’t stack last I heard)
Ult. Shooting Star – I rarely use this and just have it here for the mage’s guild passive. Switch to bar 2 for using Ultimates.
Second bar. Resto Staff:

This is a bar you’ll switch to as needed for those tough bosses and when you use your ultimate. It’s nothing but heals except for the ultimate.
1. Quick Siphon – Heal.
2. Rapid Regeneration – Heal.
3. Honor the Dead – Heal.
4. Repentance – Heal, but only when there’s corpses nearby.
5. Inner Light – same reason as first bar.
Ult. Solar Prison – very strong dps ultimate.
Champion Points:
Warrior:
100 Bastion
43 elemental defender
42 hardy
Mage:
100 Elemental expert
61 Spell erosion
25 Elf born
1 staff expert

92 Arcanist
Current stats, no buffs, no potions, no food, 267 cp
