Hello,
With the new retribution sets out I decided to put a few together, and make a build. This build is viable for vDungeons, however it is more of a “Fun” build. I would be skittish to wear it for vTrials ( I have worn it for vHRC which it did well), but should be more than solid for nTrials. The Idea was to try to provide a bit of DPS from the tanking role, while still doing our Primary function. I welcome suggestions, I admit it is not the most fabulous build, just something fun to try out.
The 3 sets I will be focusing on: Thunderbug, Twin Sister, Resilient Yokeda.
Short Summery
The Gear Set-Up
The Bars
Bar 1- Utility Bar
- Unrelenting Grip- Pulls mobs to you, refunds the cost if they are immune
- Balance- you sack Health for Magicka, be very careful using it. Gives Major Ward and Major Resolve for 4 sec after use.
- Inner Rage- Ranged Taunt, Magicka based (to save some Stamina
- Choking Talons- CC and Debuff (Minor Maim)
- Defensive Stance- Decreases block cost & Increases Damage blocked by 8%. Reflects Spells. Note- I use this instead of Absorb Magic because there are times where you will still take damage when using Absorb Magic. Anything over the amount healed you still take as damage.
- Ultimate- Magma Shield- Caps damage to 3% of your Max health, puts a Very strong shield on close allies for 10 sec. Great “O Sh!t” button.
Bar 2- Tanking Bar
- Defensive Stance- See Above
- Pierce Armor- Your taunt and bread and butter. If this is up then the mob is Always debuffed. Ransack doesn’t give enough to make it worth while.
- Heroic Strike- Debuff and extra Ulti Generation. Apply it every time the extra Ulti generation falls off.
- Volitile Armor- Extra Mitigation, Damage Return
- Igneous Shield- Extra Ulti generated every 6 seconds. You can Use ANY Earthen Heart ability. I like to shield the people around me and provide a little more protection for my group. But it is flexible depending on your taste.
- Aggressive Warhorn- Will restore a ton of resources for you and give your DD’s a great boost. Win/Win
CP Perks
These add to the goal of the build.
Future Gear Options
I believe the Resilient Yokeda set will add even more viability to the build. With the heal return it will be great for Large trash pulls, as well as the lil extra DPS (can’t hurt right? LOL)
As always, thank you for reading, and Happy Tanking
