It’s time to make a couple of extra mules, and I prefer them to be characters I might actually play in the future. (I.e., no Argonian sorcerers with names like Holds-All-Stuff.) So I’m thinking one could be a magicka DK who might later be used as a tank.
The obvious race choices are Altmer, Dunmer or Breton. Build threads seem to favor Altmer or Dunmer. Questions that come to mind include:
- In what ways does doing more damage actually make you a better tank?
- That 9% Altmer increase to magicka recovery — is it multliplicative with anything, such as gear, or does it only apply to base regen?
- Does the Breton racial spell resistance ever matter much?
- Is vampire actually a good choice for tanking these days? If so, what are the major reasons — Drain Essence? Undeath? Magicka/Stamina recovery?
There also is the problem that I don’t like the looks of Dunmers, but let’s ignore that part for now.
