Hi,
A month back I asked you guys for advice about my stam build NB and your patience and information really opened my eyes – I’ve played that toon to lvl 47, and it’s been very, very enjoyable. However, in the initial discussion about what build to go for, someone mentioned mag NB’s.
Anyway, long story short, it’s been nagging at my curiosity for a while, and once I got to Cold Harbour I decided I’d pause the stam NB for a bit and try it.
I went High Elf. I’m no longer making the beginners mistake I made last time -I’m putting everything into Mag , no health or stam. But what’s really got me puzzled is what weapon set I should be using? For the first few levels I’ve been mixing it up between destruction staff and restoration staff – this seemed logical from the mag dam. BUt I was browsing the mag NB build descriptions in this forum and I realise that every single one of them uses at least one weapon set. They might not have any skills from the weaponset loaded in the bar – but they’ve all got blades of some kind.
So, should I be lvling DW? And, to put it bluntly,…why? If I’ve got such a small stam pool? When I think how running with weapons depletes my Stam NB’s stam pool (which is maxed in Stam) so quickly. A mag build will be out of stam before it can make the first dodge roll, surely – or is that where siphoning attacks comes in?
Secondly, what should I be looking to for crowd control? I’m counting on mass hysteria eventually…but I’m not lvled that high yet. Apart from dark cloak, there’s not a lot else I can use to get out of trouble? Or am I missing something? With stam I was spammed brawler to get out of trouble. Currently, with this Mag NB I’m going invis and dodge rolling out of range – is there a trick I’m missing?
FInally, this has got me stumped, and maybe the answer is obvious, but I’m a beginner and it’s not to me -how should I be running him in a group dungeon and get the best out of the build and not get my group killed? The stam NB was obvious once I’d respecced and you’d shown me – I just spam steel tornado and watch the mobs die. But a mag NB doesn’t seem to have such an obvious AoE dam dealer? Should I be focusing on attacking individuals not AoE and using the high dam of impale etc to slice a path through a mob individual by individual?
Thanks in advance for any help. And my apologies for the somewhat basic level of the questions but I’m only a basic level player :D. Currently my man is only level 9, so there’s plenty of time for me to make changes.
