OVERVIEW -
This is stamina based Nightblade build for the 1.7 Imperial City Patch. It is meant for solo and small group Pvp. The focus was creating a build that maximized damage, while not using any gear or skills that aren’t easily attainable (relatively).
RACE -
I went with wood elf for the increase in stamina and decreased sneak radius, I suppose a Khajiit or Imperial would work as well. But more important than race is being a vampire. The regen is nice, but its really the movement speed in stealth that is the #1 reason to be a vamp.
MUNDUS -
The Warrior, This is a weapon damage build, there is really no other choice.
GEAR -
Armor :
7 Medium pieces with divines : 5 pieces of Hunding’s Rage and 2 Pieces of Ashen grip. Magic enchants on the Large pieces Stam on the small pieces.
Weapons :
1 Great Sword, 2 One handed swords with Precise all Ashen Grip
Jewelry :
Max stamina with either reduced magic cost, weapon damage or fire resist if you can find it are your best options. But since this is a poor mans build the jewelry is less important, just make sure it is blue or better and at your level, as it won’t make or break you.
These two sets are really the key. 100% craftable, focused on weapon damage, critical and max stamina. You cant go wrong. Getting divines on everything is really important to boost your weapon damage as much as possible. If you can’t get divines on everything infused is good alternative. The magicka enchants are important to get your magicka high enough to be able to spam dark cloak and double take enough to escape.
If you wanted a bit better sustain you could probably swap out 2 pieces for light if you wanted more more magicka regen but I think having 7 is worth it for your stamina regen, sprint speed, sneak cost, and critical that you gain.
STAT ALLOCATION -
Magicka : 10
Health : 0
Stam : All
Building off the magicka enchant logic, this is the same. I sacrifice a bit of max damage from a slightly smaller stamina pool for the sake of being more stealthy and being able to escape.
Champion Points -
Champion vary so wildly from player to player that I am just going to give guidelines instead of hard numbers.
Blue :
Your first 30 points need to go into The Ritual because you need that 30 point passive for weapon crit. I like a 2:1:1 Ratio for Mighty Piercing and Precise Strikes. After that you can start dumping points into Blade expert under the Atronach to help with the damage your light and heavy attacks do , or you can just keep dumping points into The Ritual until you get the 75 point passive for increased damage against off balance enemies.
Red :
You are a vampire so you need to be dumping all your points into the Elemental Defender of the Lady I wouldn’t stop til at least 15% (probably 50 or so CP) i Once you have that leveled up another good option is the Steed. Splitting evenly between Medium Armour Focus, Resistant and Spell Shield until you have the 30 point passive.
Green :
Green is my most diverse Tree and I tended to split evenly across the 3 different skill lines, Under the tower I am using Magician for reduced cost, Under the Lover I am using Mooncalf for stam regen, and Under Shadow Tumbling for reduced break free. Once I have those each to 10% I will start to evenly distribute to Warlord and And Arcanist to help with the regen and reduce cost that I haven’t yet invested in.
SKILLS-
First bar : Dual Wield – Relentless Focus, Piercing Mark, Flying blade, Dark Cloak, Double Take. : Ult – Clouding BatSwarm
Second bar : 2 Handed – Ambush, Wrecking Blow, Executioner. Dark Cloak, Vigor. : Ult – Clouding BatSwarm
This build wasn’t previously possible. However with flying blade now granting major savagery it enables our dual wield bar to be buff bar with the majority of your damage coming from our two handed bar. But this means that we aren’t using rally, and being vampires our health regen is practically 0 so we need to look somewhere else, and that place is Vigor. Now that vigor is only a rank 5 assault ability it is pretty easily attainable.
It may seem like a wate to have dark cloak on both bars, but trust me. the time you save not having to change bars before cloaking will save your life, especially if you run into a templar that likes to spam radiant destruction.
Bat swarm is your Ult on both bars, you need it for the vampire passive regen to work, but luckily it is a bad ass ultimate, keeping you in stealth means all your attacks are stronger.
Rotation -
Entering combat on your first bar You should be stealthed and leading your pack, using double take to flank the enemy . Buff with relentless focus, mark your target and toss your dagger. Cloak up, swap bars and ambush to close the gap. This should stun your target, so now get to wrecking blow, once your target is at 50% health switch to executioner. You will want to mix in some dark cloak’s to to keep your target off balance and make your attacks hit harder.
If you need to reapply your grim focus and major savagery pop a vigor and swap back to dual wield. Now that you have closed the gap take this opportunity to do some light attacks with your dual wield. They are quick, you will build back some stamina and now you only need 4 attacks to proc the spectral bow from grim focus. Proc it, stealth back up and hit them with a flying blade and then back to your two handed bar.
If things are starting to go south, cloak out and pop some vigor to heal up. If you are taking too long to burn the guy down and his buddies pop in, it is time to cut and run. Pop your bat swarm and double take out of there.
Food and Potions -
Since this is poor mans build it isn’t reliant on some fancy expensive potion or food, just the stuff you can pick up in the world.
I generally use a stamina regen drink, Or stam + magicka or health if I come across one in the world. I find the increased regen to be more useful than the max you get from food, now that fights take a bit longer the sustain is helpful.
For potions I used all 3 (magicka, stam, health) fairly evenly, nothing fancy like invisibility or detection or critical, just a little boost to my resources as I need them.
