Jotunn the Devourer – Warden Sap Tank
Jotunn is a PVE centered build for overworld and 4 man dungeons. I haven’t tried it in a trial yet, but I’ll update if it is viable. The build focuses on sapping life from enemies while doing decent damage. In sustains very well and is fun to play!
I’ve spent a lot of time trying to build an easy and fun to play Warden tank. I tried a normal tank setup, but it didn’t really fit into the Wardens strengths. The Wardens strengths are great group utility and healing passives. Perfect for a Sap Tank. It’s not just for Nightblades anymore!
Jotunn the Devourer – Warden Sap Tank
The goal is to boost your healing extremely high so that your procs keep your health full at all times. As with all sap tanks, the more enemies you are facing, the better it becomes. It is a bit unusual for a tank to put so much into magic instead of health, but it allows you to do decent damage with cliff racer or growing swarm while rounding up all the enemies. In addition, the Animal Companion passive Bond with Nature heals you every time you spam on of these attacks which further negates the need for high health. You can stand in the middle of a mob holding aggro while simultaneously maintaining full health and doing damage. So much winning.
Race: Argonian – Great resources when potions are used and has increased healing racial passives. Optional: Vampire for Supernatural Recovery and Undeath Passives.
Attributes: 64 Magicka; Shooting for >26K health, 35K Magicka, 18K Stamina. I know it looks like low health, but it works here.
Mundus: Apprentice or Ritual
Gear: 5 Heavy, 2 Light
2x Scourge Harvester – Procs more than the 8% suggests because you are constantly taking hits. Key to the build is the 30% increased healing.
5x Leeching Plate – Gives 8% increased healing and drops a leeching poison AOE that heals you.
5x Bahraha’s Curse – More AOE damage that heals you.

-Weapon Damage enchants on Jewelry

Bar Setup:
Main Bar (Dual Wield): Subterranian Assault, Rending Slashes, Rearming Trap, Bull Netch, Deadly Cloak. Ultimate – Rend
Offbar (Bow): Dive, Soothing Spores, Razor Caltrops, Endless Hail, Poison Injection. Ultimate – Flawless Dawnbreaker

Step 2: LA>Subterranian Assault>HA>Rending Slashes>LA>Deadly Cloak>LA>Subterranian Assault>HA>Rearming Trap>HA>Subterranian Assault>Bar Swap
Restart from Step 1
Questions:
1. Why Kragh?
Kragh offers the highest damage gain in groups where full target penetration is not achieved. The 1 piece on it is the strongest 1 piece for a stam user to have and offers a whopping 3.8% DPS increase on a non fully penetrated target. In addition its damage is quiet good as well.
2. Why reapply trap before it runs out?
Because the minor force uptime and the DoT are important and wouldnt be on target 100% of the time if we did not refresh it on cooldown.
3. When do we use Dive?
When movement and positioning preclude us from being melee.
4. Rotation video

I’ve been playing this game since it launched on PS4! After tonight and the ridiculous proc sets that we’re going off and PVP was insane. This game is gone to shit! I feel like I’ve wasted 2.5 yrs of my life and money to help support the development of this game. Only to every patch be disappointed. Does anybody else feel like this, I mean I can’t be the only one saying sayonara.

Ive just bought eso, and am so unsure about classes and builds and playstyles. In all Mmo’s ive ever played, ive played a ranged dps. With the ability to kite and deal major damage.
In wow I played hunter, in Swtor I played a sniper. So essentially im looking for the eso version of that. If I could get a class and race recommended that would be awesome. I was thinking the nightblade or a warden for it, but im totally unsure.

Hey guys,
This is not a maxed out build by any means. It’s a build that I feel is achievable relatively soon, as a ~CP 40 character. Intended use is for 1vX PVP. Link to full build with gear/enchants/skills/CP is below. Armor is 5-1-1, 1H+S/2H, key set is Pelinal’s, other sets for weapon damage/stamina. Hybrid Magicka Heals/Buffs, Stamina DPS, No Shields.
Any advice would be appreciated. Will I have enough recovery, damage, crit./phys./spell resistance. What are some recommended sets to compliment Pelinal’s? I can’t find baseline stat recommendations anywhere. What do you recommend for minimums?
The general idea of this build is to stay buffed and do sustained damage/self heals with a lot of light attacks and Biting Jabs on the 1H + Shield bar, then finish off opponents with the standard 2H skills.
But, this build stands out as it’s a hybrid and has good magicka heals alongside a decent stamina pool and good weapon damage. This is due to the Pelinal’s set 5 piece bonus, making spell damage equal to weapon damage. So I’ve stacked a lot of weapon damage. Plus, as an imperial, I’m getting heals from doing melee attacks. Those heals would be a lot less effective as a pure stamina character without Pelinal’s set.
I know hybrid builds are not likely to be viable, but this is my dream, thanks for your input!

I got a little tired of my usual “you can’t kill me – I can’t kill you” build and wanted to try something that is a lot of fun to play with decent DPS. This build is the result and I can vouch for its feasibility. It makes things like Grobul a complete walk in the park – even with a PUG. If you like to play the game “Rambo style” this build is for you.
Update 2017-05-26: Updated for Morrowind.
Try to get 5H/1M/1L – even if this means going with medium/light monster helm. You may be able to find some medium/light Baharas if you are lucky to mix and match with Thunderbug (which only comes in Heavy).

For questing, just run straight towards your quest marker, ignoring all monsters that might chase you – turn around when you have 10-20 mobs and apply the above.

Has anyone here considered that the math might come out in favor of using 3x willpower/agility (with all weapons being either masters or maelstrom for the extra max-resource/damage), given that the Minor Slayer buff appears to only be additive with certain other damage increases? I ask because if someone’s already done the work to answer that question, then I don’t have to undertake answering this question myself.

Was going for Deltia’s End Game PVE DK / Laceration build. Speccing into same CPs, same skills on my bars, same rotations, practiced with video, easy enough. Same mundus stone, using suggested pots, etc. Dunmer race. Unlocked all skills. I am CP lvl 200+ and all attributes points are magicka. I’m a stage four vamp.
As far as gear, I’m wearing 5 x legendary Julianos for chest/legs/feet/hands/waist and 2 x epic Torug’s Pact for helm/shoulders, and 3 x epic Willpower jewelery, and 2 x legendary Julianos inferno staves, and Divines on gear + a combination of either max health or magicka for enchants.
I’ve got a small house w/ a training dummy I’ve been doing some parses with the Recount addon, which I assume is ok to use still. Even trying different versions of Deltia’s rotation and changing things up has zero affect on my DPS output. I can’t quite seem to get much higher than 8-10K DPS sustained. I tried swapping out Trap Beast w/ Scalding rune, and even Scalding Rune and Trap Beast with FoO, Eruption, and Inner Light, completely removing Harness Magicka from the back bar. Trap Beast is the only skill left to be morphed, simply because I haven’t done a lot of Fighrters Guild activities.
Of course my front bar is your usual Blockade, Engulfing, Embers, Whip, and Inner Light, and I’m applying my dots as shown, of course my Light attack weaving probably needs a little work, but still… I have tried removing Whip and using Molten Armaments on my front bar and I was actually getting more dps output from my heavy attacks than Blockade in the Recount breakdown. But yeah 8.5-10.5K DPS.
With pots, I have about 31,000 magicka / 18,500 health / 64% crit / 1,945 spell dmg.
I know I’m doing something wrong, but what is it? I’ve been having to use a Resto staff on my back bar in dungeons lately so haven’t done much testing there.
Any help is sure appreciated.
-Val

Hello, and welcome to my nightblade guide! First and foremost, I’d like to say a little bit of who I am, to give you a little bit of insight into my knowledge about this game. I’ve been raiding with Hodor for around two years now, and I’ve been playing nightblade for the most part, but also quite a fair bit of dragonknight, and sorcerer. I’ve gotten some parses on certain bosses that I’ve felt very good about, and feel the builds that I produce have alot of potential in them, which I again think reflects on the leaderboards. For the past six months or so, I’ve completely left nightblade, but I’ve picked it up as of this patch with the recent changes I’ll be talking about later in the build. Keep in what is written in this build is still subject to change, and my tests are not finalized. Without further adue, lets just jump into the build!
So, this is our bread and butter! Lets start from the top, which alot of people will ask, why not use Llambris combined with lightning clench? Simply put, it’s not more DPS. Valkyn Skoria and Grothdarr will provide much better results in terms of damage. The choise between Skoria and Grothdarr is something I need to test further, but as of now I’d highly suggest to have them both and switching dependant if the boss fight allows you to stay in melee range, or if you need to stay ranged. If you’re lazy, just stick with Skoria.
Onto our mainset, scathing mage! Alot of nightblades love this set, simply because it procs of Twisting Path’s DoT effect, allowing you to get an extremely high uptime thus giving you a high ammount of spell damage, and spell crit. Optional sets here could be Twice Born Star and using the thief and the shadow, which will give you a little bit less DPS, but still something that you can compete with. Julianos is also an alternative.
For the jewelry and our mainhand, we want to use the same set so we can benefit of four set bonuses, minmaxing our stats as best as we can. In my case, im running Infallible Aether, but Moondancer will provide the same results if not better. Sharpened is a MUST. On our offhand, we will be using a maelstrom staff, im still testing abit with lightning or inferno, but as of right now I prefer lightning. Both works, but having a lightning staff on trashpacks is essential.
These are the stats you can expect with using the sets that I am using, completely unbuffed. Nothing too fancy, just the usual.
The Thief
We will be using the thief for extra spellcrit in this build, having more crit with a high aggressive warhorn uptime, and crit modifiers such as trap beast, is gonna help us out alot.
Lets talk about the skills abit, there’s alot of potential changes come here, so stay updated. Our mainbar is what we can call our buffbar, we’ll be having merciless resolve alongside with siphoning attacks, and our shield which can be swapped out with the likes of trap beast or destructive clench if you’d like that. The spammable is something im still testing, but as of now I’ll be using swallow soul as it’s way cheaper. We will NOT be using soul assault as our ultimate, but we will be using elemental rage instead to benefit from ancient knowledge.
On our second bar, it’s gonna be our AoE, execute and DoT bar. I really like having these skills on the same bar, as it gives us alot of advantages such as a clean rotation (Path 11s, Blockade 8s, Cripple 8s) it allows us to not swap bars whatsoever when we’re executing and AoE’ing, making this build very clean and simple to play.
Thanks to @Magna-G and @xBlackroxe for the help here, this spread was mainly put together by @xBlackroxe.
– 40 Elfborn
– 43 Elemental Expert
– 8 Spell Erosion
– 44 Master-at-Arms
– 75 Thaumaturge
I’ll only be covering the blue champion points here, as I change my red and green ones up all the time dependant on the trial I go to. Nothing too spectacular here, I’ll be updating the explanation abit further in the future though.
– 56 Elemental Expert
– 51 Elfborn
– 12 Spell Erosion
– 62 Master-at-Arms
– 13 Staff Expert
– 16 Thaumaturge
– Dunmer and Highelf are both viable options, and honestly I don’t see alot of difference between them. Play whatever you want :P.
More to be added.
I’d like to give a big thank you to the entire Hodor, especially the members of the hodor core group. I’d like to give my love, @Hjelmi a big kiss too for keeping me alive during all of this, I don’t know how you manage it. Also, big thanks to @Selawa for helping me brainstorm, @Magna-Ge for helping me out with champion points and @Blackroxee for betraying nightblades and going to the sorcerer side. For those of you that don’t see your names here, you know who you are, and I highly appreciate it. Now, go out there and make Nightblades considered a strong DPS class, and remember as always, FULLFIST!

I just started playing again as of recent; Kind of forgot how to build seeing as I reset all my points before I quit. I was a bow/DW stamplar but honestly I’m having a lot of trouble figuring out which skills I should be leveling with or using. I would like to play a magplar instead. should I just level with a destro and resto staff? Most build videos are for vet endgamers who already have all the skills they need etc. I just really want a basic outline of a decent magplar build and skills I should be going for tbh. I would hate to level my character incorrectly and hate it endgame because I missed out on leveling primary skills.
