This is my first published original build, I hope you like it, it’s a heavy armor stamina nightblade build centered around health regen and built for solo pvp, small group pvp, and dueling. I like tanky builds that can put out some damage as well and that is the purpose of this build, to tank your opponent(s) until you can capitalize on their mistakes and burst them down.

Race

Orc
My choice as it has 30% health regen and a run speed bonus, also max health and stamina bonuses
Nord
Also 30% health regen, some max health and even tankier with 6% reduction to all incoming damage
Kjahit
20% health regen, 10% stam regen, 8% weapon crit and 10% bonus dmg from stealth makes the khajit a worthy candidate for this build
Other races can make this work but a race with stamina passives are obviously advantageous as is having 400+ CP

MUNDUS

The Steed as it increases our health regen and as a bonus it boosts our run speed keeping us very mobile for heavy armor build.

Consumables

Health / Stam / Magicka Regen drink
And for potions I’ve been running with great success trash v15 stamina pots. Tri pots are nice as you get health recovery but are expensive and I’m not yet finding them necessary. I think I’ll end up relying mostly on stamina pots with weapon crit and something else. ( Non orc/nord/khajits would most likely benefit most from the tripot health regen)

Gear

Here are a few gear set ups. The first priority is health regen followed by weapon damage.
What I’m using:

What I’m aiming for:

What is easier to obtain:

Now the shield on my off bar, Grievous Ward, has a health regen enchant that can not be crafted, it’s a dropped shield from Imperial City Prison and part of the endurance set. It also talks to you. (no lie, in an ominous voice at that)
The traits on all the armor and the jewelry glyphs is where you will fine tune and tailor this build (along with CP allocation) to your race.
For instance:
An imperial has a nice high stam pool but no racial health regen passive, so go all divines on your armor and try 1 or 2 health recovery glyphs on the jewelry.
Wood Elves / Redguards have great sustain so add health regen in place of the stam recovery / reduced cost glyphs and use 7 heavy to further boost the constituion passive.
You’ll have to test and see what works for you

Bar Set Up

In the build video below I explain how you can easily swap your weapons depending on how you want to play this build  ie bow / sword shield, dual wield / sword and shield, sword and shield x2 etc. In the gameplay I’m using the double sword and board variation which I’m currently liking most and I have my double take / ambush on the wrong bars.
Main Bar
-Reverberating Bash
It’s a hard CC but I use it mostly for the heal debuff
-Defensive Posture
Amazing, this is why I run sword and board.  Reflects magic projectiles (meteors, frags, swallow soul, chains, etc) also 8% block cost reduction and block an additional 8% dmg.
-Surprise Attack
Bread and butter dps. I animation cancel this and follow up fully charged heavy attacks with this for burst. Stuns out of stealth (and sets off balance taking advantage of a CP passive) major fracture debuff, and it’s a shadow ability so shadow barrier is activated giving you major resolve and major ward and since we’re in heavy, this is up always.
-Ambush
Gap closer, grants empowered, can ambush while rooted and there are no pathing issues. You could also use invasion here, it’s a little bit cheaper stam cost and has a nice long stun duration, I like this some times as it makes finishing off stam drained targets easier and it’s a gap closer and cc in 1, though can’t charge while rooted and pathing can be an issue.
-Dark Cloak
This one is obvious, removes negative effects, makes the nightblade a nightblade.
Incapacitating Strikes
Cheap cost, burst damage with defile and a knockdown if you use it when your health is lower than the target.
Off Bar
-Relentless Focus
Mostly here for 8% dmg increase, the 10% stam recovery is nice as well, also if you can get it in your rotation the free damage proc is nice
-Resolving Vigor
The only heal for this build, I rely heavily on my health regen but you want to use this heal before you get within execute range or else you can get in trouble
-Power Extraction
Grants major brutality which is absolutely necessary. It’s also a decent aoe and pulls annoying nightblades out of stealth and it’s a siphoning ability buffing our vigor
-Double Take
Speed buff and dodge chance, I can’t play without it
-Mass Hysteria
This is the only skill from either bar I’d consider running without, consider it a flex spot if you want mark target, siphoning attacks or another weapon skill here though running additional buffs I find cumbersome . I do however like playing with shades sometimes and it goes here
-Soul Tether / Werewolf
I really like soul tether in outnumbered situations, radial damage , stun, heal, enough said (also buffs vigor). Werewolf is amazingly strong as well though I’m still learning it, this is my first build trying it . The damage is insane and the stam regen is a nice bonus.

Champion Points

Again, a place to tailor this build to your play style / race / gear but there are some key passives to aim for. I have 400 or so CP but I’ll allocate 501 so we can aim for the cap.
Key Passives:
Shield Expert – Increase armor of equipped shields by 75%
Perfect Strike – Increase weapon crit 12%
Exploiter – Increase damage to off balance targets by 10%
-Tower
20 Warlord
4 Magician
15 Bashing
-Lover
12 Arcanist
5 Healthy
66 Mooncalf
5 Tenacity
-Shadow
30 Tumbling
10 Befoul
-Steed
65 Block Expertise
5 Spell Shield
12 Resistant
-Lady
20 Elemental Defender
20 Hardy
-Lord
25 Quick Recovery
20 Heavy Armor Focus
-Apprentice
12 Blessed
-Atronach
30 Blade Expert

-Ritual
90 Mighty
15 Precise Strikes
20 Piercing

If you’re not one of the robust races find some green points to sacrifice and stack more into healthy. If you find yourself not blocking as much, take some away from blocking expertise and put them into resistant / spell shield. If you’re having sustain issues, take some out of befoul and dump more into stam recovery .
