The Infinite Healer

 UPDATED: 08-28-2016

Hey all, I haven’t posted here in a while but thought I would share my build since last time i was here i think i was just learning at sub lvl50/just turned champion.

Note: I’ve tested cost reduction vs magicka regen by Breath of Life spam count and in-game play. I’ve found cost reduction to be a bit superior. Both are needed of course, but with a stronger focus on cost reduction i’m able to bring “The Infinite Healer” to life!

Theory and objective of Build:

The objective of this build is to create a very effective PvE Healer with high sustain (hence the name Infinite Healer)

Some things I’ve noticed about healing which are different than DPS is sustain is more important than highest possible heal amount. Now don’t get me wrong, high heals are important, but i’ve noticed sustain as a healer is very very important.

Example: If my Breath of Life crits at 23k instead of 28k, that is a big difference in numbers, but not that big of a deal because most DPS don’t have more than 25k health anyways. Yes, Tanks can have 40k+ health, but just two BoL and back to full health. With DPS, you have a whole health bar to damage so higher DPS really makes a difference, but as a healer, you can’t heal more than 100% health!

So with this in mind this build focuses on high cost reduction and magicka recovery.

Another important point to this build: The healer does Damage! If things die faster, you don’t need to heal as much. Of course this should be secondary, never damage to the neglect of keeping someone’s health bar full, but if there are mobs of people spam Blazing Spears (i’ve sometimes gotten 40k-60k DPS doing this).

Race

Breton – for cost reduction

Class

Templar, best skills for healer IMO

Food

Banana Bunny Hash – Is there a better Health/Magicka food? This healer is addicted to it. Gives 5000k+ Health and 4000k+ Magicka

Potions

I could probably use some refining in this department, but I use the cheap magicka ones when i’m in a real tight spot,.. rarely use it but the few times i did it saved me,.. with 0 magicka (due to some miss clicks on my part and toons staying immobile in stacked red zones) i popped one of these down and could BoL a couple more times in a row to save my mates.

Attributes -

64 Magicka

Mundus Stone

Atronach – (Magicka Regen)

Armor (all light armor)

5pc Worm Gear – Divines – Magicka Enchant

Worm Set Bonus

2pc: Spell Damage

3pc: Max Magicka

4pc: 4% healing taken (This basically replaces “Quick Recovery” cp’s allowing them to go into Hardy & Elemental Defender)

5pc: Reduce Magicka cost for 12 members by 5% (This is really nice, even if your whole group is Stamina build, saving yourself an extra 5% cost is worth it, but when you have Magicka builds in your team, this really helps out)

3pc Tranmutation – Divines – Magicka Enchant (includes necklace)

Tranmustation Set Bonus

extra Magicka Regen

extra Magicka Regen

Jewelry

Necklace of Transmutation – Arcane – Cost Reduction Enchant

(For a whopping 1400 extra magicka and spell damage Willpower set is nice)

Ring of Willpower – Healthy – Cost Reduction Enchant

Ring of Willpower – Healthy – Cost Reduction Enchant

Weapon

1: Healing Staff of Willpower – Defending

2: Healing Staff of Willpower – Defending

Champion Points:

Red:

Important Passives:

Reduce Damage Taken while resurrecting (doesn’t need an explanation)

10 points into Quick Recovery to get above passive rest 50/50 into elemental defender and hardy. (Physical and Magical damage reduction)

Blue:

Important Passives:

10% Spell Crit

Heavy into Blessed (Increase healing effectiveness) and a modest amount into Elf Born (increase healing and damage crit done)

Green:

Fun Passive:

This is consequential but if you die you do area damage,.. (hope I never have to use it)

All into cost reduction and the rest into magicka recovery. If you don’t have enough to go all into cost reduction, put a few points into magicka recovery as well to get the full percentage bumps the very first cps give you.

Skills:

Bar1: Healing Staff

Rapid Regen – I always have this on, reapply every 15sec (lasts for 16secs) A running HoT always up is important. I took this over Mutagen because Mutagen doesn’t heal as much per tick and can get consumed if someone’s health falls below 20%. Since I have BoL for burst heal I would rather have a higher tick HoT that is consistent every 16sec than one that can stop the HoT.

Purifying Ritual - This is my “house”, i always lay this down to get a HoT, DoT and Major Mending. Quite a large area it gives. Also gives a house for others to run to when they need healing.

Repentance – Free Healing and Stamina from dead bodies,.. use DURING a fight, not after.

Inner Light – Need the Crit % (since we are using Atronach Mundus) and adds a good boost to max magicka. May drop this when i’m 531cp but now at 250cp I believe I need it.

Breath of Life – Best burst heal in game. If anyone falls below 60% I hit this.

Ultimate: Radial Sweep – Purely for the Aeidric Spear passive to add % to crit. Adds quite a boost to healing.

Bar2: Resto Staff

Purifying Light – Use only on boss or high health target. I decided to use this for two reasons, 1: Does up to 20k+ damage on a 6s delay, then a health pool is created around the target which heals the Tank (or close range DPS). This really helps out the tank healing i’ve found allowing me to be able to take my attention off the tank for a few seconds and handle other things.

Blazing Spears – Great AoE damage for mobs, has great range and give to the tank if he’s a stamina build since he can activate the synergy to restore stamina.

Structured Entropy – Grants Major Sorcery, I mainly use this during boss phase. Instant cast and lasts a while so easy to keep up all the time.

Inner Light – as above

Breath of Life – As above. (note: some people knock me for having this double barred, but for my play style, this is needed. People die during intense times if i don’t have this double barred, maybe it’s just me not being skilled enough, but having this double barred is a life saver for me.

Ultimate: Solar Disturbance – I think this is a great ultimate, i’ll use this whenever it’s ready on a difficult boss, as well as if I need to resurrect anyone. The damage reduction is significant and the damage too is quite good. it’s expensive, but well worth it when used IMO.

Rotation Points:

Before going into combat, double or triple spam Rapid Regen so everyone has a HoT then lay down purifying ritual

On mobs use Blazing Spears

As soon as you see 2-3 enemies go down, use Repentance (stamina builds will love you)

Anyone’s health drops below 70% do Breath of Life to get them back.

If my Magicka ever hits 40% I weave in resto staff heavy attacks to regen to 100% magicka.

Boss fights I apply purifying light every 6 seconds and weave heavy Resto with Breath of Life, and give shards on regular basis to tank.

And that’s it folks! This build works really great for me, my play style and i’m super happy with it. Once i get 531cp, I will tweak this a bit, but at 250cp now, this I believe is an optimal and effective build for me.
