Ok so i’ve been running some ideas for this Merciless Resolve (Grim Focus) build and think i may have been able to com up with something thats actually competitive and might work very well. And if it does, it will end up being an actual hybrid build..I need some help to Finnish it.
5 Top Reasons why i think it might work:
1. Bows got an increase to light attack damage (16%). Might not be AMAZING, but it does do damage similar to a regular DoT. And putting a Glyph of Absorb Health, Glyph of Hardening, Glyph of Decrease Health, or even Glyph of Rage depending on if you need more survivability or dos is all your choice.
2. Grim focus now takes 4 light attacks to activate. Like i said above your light attacks are your “DoT”, and this hits like a truck when it procs, and gives minor berserk which increases all damage by 8%.
3. Refreshing Shadows passive now gives 15% Magicka, Stamina, and Health. i mean its just asking for a hybrid build right…
4. Siphoning Strikes isn’t a toggle anymore, and does’t give you a penalty to damage. Why its important is because you’ll constantly be using light attacks to proc Grim focus, your main dps.
5. I know its gonna be hard to come by but…, Molag Kena set Gives both weapon and spell power, and 2 consecutive light attacks will proc “Overkill, which increases the cost of all abilities by 50% and increases your Spell Damage and Weapon Damage for 6 seconds.” Which means when you do cast your other situational abilities you get a nice damage bump.

Race:
When it come to hybrid build i was stuck on what would be a good race..Magica vs Stamina..bla bla bla. Your main Dps comes from Magic and sustained by your weapon light attacks. which you want to still hit decently, but is easier to bump damage with CP points.
Dark Elf: IMO, this might fit this class the best as a Hybrid.
1. He gets Max Stamina and Magicka, and on top of that you want more magic then stamina anyways so your main skills still hit high.
2. Vampire’s flame weakness is down to 25%. Meaning that flame resist means a lot more.
3. Vampires get 10% regen in both Magick and Stamina. Nuff said
Cons: The only downside is that you might have a wasted passive because of the Flame Talent passive. Where none of your NB skills do fire damage. There is a silver lining though. If you like Shooting Star (Meteor) or Fire Rune from the mage guild tree (Also get some nice buffs for using them), or Volley Scorched Earth (Volley) from the Bow line (which is now at 8s duration), then this might no be a Con.

Armor
Molag Kena (Head, Shoulders) – Have to run this, no question. You’ll be spammina so many arrow that you can just consider the damage bump permanent.
- (1 items) Adds Weapon and Spell Damage
- (2 items) Causing damage with 2 consecutive light attacks triggers Overkill, which increases the cost of all abilities by 50% and increases your Spell Damage and Weapon Damage for 6 seconds.
For the 5 piece is a toss up right now, because I want to spend as much time spamming light attacks, I don’t want to give up my DPS to heal. So here are some options that might work.
Draw Essence Set (Chest, Pants, Waist, Hands, Feet) To understand how often this will proc, grab a sword and 5 piece ashen set and swing away. It is a low heal, but 12% more overall damage is great for DPS, So this is my personal fav for best of both worlds. Also get to put more attribute points into Magicka later on.
- (2 items) Adds Max Stamina
- (3 items) Adds Max Stamina
- (4 items) Adds Weapon Damage
- (5 items) When causing damage with Light Attacks gain 10% chance to draw essence from an enemy. Collecting the essence restores Health and Stamina and increases your damage by 12% for 10 seconds.
Willpower Set (Neck, Ring, Ring) Spell Damage is harder to come by, which is why i choose this over Agility.
- (2 items) Adds Max Magicka
- (3 items) Adds Spell Damage
Master Bow
- Increase Max Stamina
- When an Enemie is affected with Poison Arrow, Increase your Weapon Damage against then.
- Trait: Weighted if possible. If not Infused.

Skills
Main Bar: (Bow Bar)
1. Swallow Soul (Strife) – This skill does hit high, and NB lack a Decent Heal, so mix this small one with one you’d be getting from bow enchantment and set offers a lot of small heals verses one huge one.
2. Mass Hysteria (Aspect of Terror) – Because your not a close up and personal build, this will help with melee fighters.
3. Sap Essance (Drain Power) – 20% weapon and Spell power, because you use both, along with low heal, and medium AoE damage over large range.
4. Merciless Resolve (Grim Focus) – This is where your huge damage is coming from.
5. This is an optional spot. A few i would choose from is:
Poison Injector (Poison arrow) – If you got a Master Bow its great for dps. Stamina Dump.
Scorched Earth (Volley) – With this build this you lack any real AoE, So this is a great option because they increased how long its up for. Cast it stand in it and cast mass hysteria for melee enemies and watch them burn. Also a Stamina Dump. And if your a Dark Elfs, you’ll see some great numbers. Good for other NBs too if you choose to stand in it when they go invisible.
Ult. Incapacitating Strike (Death Stroke) – One is a quick use skill. don’t need a lot of Ultimate to cast. Two the tends to be more melee NB and this is a decent skill when they want to keep getting in your face.
Flawless Dawnbreaker (Dawnbreaker) – Is also a good choice, especially is you slot a bow skill.
Off Bar (Idk what I’d put here yet for a weapon)
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Ult.
