Effects of CP on Abilities – Please Contribute!

Hello everyone,

as mentioned in this thread, I’m working on a new addon called “Constellations” that is supposed to help you determine the optimal CP distribution ingame from a Combat Metrics parse with only two clicks. For this I need to know which abilities benefit from which CP’s, specifically Master-at-Arms and Thaumaturge, Staff/Weapon Expert and Elfborn/Precise Strikes.

Right now there is no PTS availbable, so I cannot go and test out all the classes. Also my knowledge about classes is more or less limited to Templars. In case someone wants to help, please add to the following Spreadsheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1k9aDTz-kv-zrnUmAkVnX3bHQbF-QTdAhDtsfbu8zJkA/edit?usp=sharing

You can use a debug option in Combat Metrics to see Ability Ids:

If you want to test the addon in its current state (with all manual inputs), there is a link in my Signature.

Edit: Thanks to Asayre, I have now data on a lot more Abilities, but for many of the the Damage Id (to be more precise, the abilityId of the actual damage combat event) is still missing. If you have a Combat Metrics Parse, its these numbers on the left, if you have the option mentioned above enabled (you can also just enable it and review old parses):

Welcome!

This is my Magicka Sorcerer Heavy Attack+Pet build for players who cannot achive
sharpened or even precise weapons from veteran Malestorm Arena and Trials (like me).

This builds works fine in Trials and Dungeons and also provide decent dps.
Remember, its “no vMA weapons build” so numbers should be around 40k but im sure of that a lot of better players can get 40k+ dps on 3M target dummy skeleton with similar gear and rotations.

Dunmer or Atmer

Mundus Stone:

Thief

All in Magicka

Rotation:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8b6XrwyBrE

We are testing our dps on 3M target dummy so for the tests im useing elemental drain skill.
When You are in Trial or Dung You can use Hardened Ward instead of Elemental Drain.

/ Elemental Drain / Thunderous Rage / Liquid Lighting / LA / Blockade of Storms / SWAP
/ LA / Volatile Familiar / LA / Daedric Prey / LA / Flame Reach / SWAP
/ HA / Liquid Lighting / LA / Blockade of Storms / SWAP
/ LA / Volatile Familiar / LA / Daedric Prey / LA / Flame Reach / SWAP
/ HA / Liquid Lighting / LA / Blockade of Storms / LA/ Elemental Drain / SWAP
/ Volatile Familiar / LA / Daedric Prey / LA / Flame Reach / SWAP
/ HA / and keep that rotation till You get to 20% HP. When You get 20% use last rotation with all dots and use:

Hi all, hopefully you’ll be able to offer some advice and guidance.

I’ve been playing over a year on and off, and originally started a NB. A little info about me might be useful… I’m pretty dense, not overly analytical, and I suffer from “ooh look shiny thing” quite a bit. I generally solo pve but I do like the odd bit of pvp and group stuff.

Ive found my NB just doesn’t cut it. I got to 50 and then 180cp and realised I was completely cack handed, as it’s a Stam build. I’ve realised late to the party that’s a pretty rough solo build for someone like me who’s fairly thick and can barely dress themself.

i fancied playing a healer so I could maybe make new friends and be more useful. I started a Sorc healer because someone recommended it, got to level 29, and was told by a few people that it was stupid because the best healers are Templars.

so I started a Templar, enjoying it so far, pretty survivable, running destro/restro, and it’s okay.

So that’s where we are, I guess. The theory is I want a character I can play well and maybe compete with in veteran modes, because so far my NB has been awful and I generally am not capable of sinking huge amounts of time into grinding gear. A healer is all well and good, but I don’t like wasting my time.

Advice please! Do I rebuild my NB and just solo and see where life takes me, stick with the Sorc and struggle even though I thought I was doing ok, or go with the Templar? I realise it’s very subjective and there will be a lot of opinions, I’m quite happy to chat away and banter and maybe discuss with like minded individuals. All suggestions welcome, surely I’m not the only one who feels lost and bumbling about in the dark!

love you all!

General tips for new or returning players

Oh, heck — let’s have a thread with advice or comments that we seem to be repeating. :) In no particular order:

 • It is possible to level up with a build that is well below optimal. Don’t sweat (all) the details. The good advice in this forum and others about endgame builds does not need to be followed while you’re leveling.
 • Food is a powerful stat boost, and is sold cheap in guild stores. Use it.
 • Light and medium armor only have advantages over heavy when you have the opportunity to put skill points into the associated passive skills.
 • Your weapon is approximately as important as all your armor put together. Also, it doesn’t take damage. If you invest in any gear, invest in your weapon first, jewelry second, and armor last.
 • It is not really necessary to pay for armor repairs until you’re in endgame. Just throw the stuff out when it breaks and replace it with something else that you looted. Alternatively, have a set of “nice” armor that you wear for difficult fights, or when you’re going out on a date. :) Switch to mob-dropped stuff for most of your fights, which will be easy.
 • If the enemy group has a healer, kill or otherwise shut down the healer first.
 • Don’t stand in the red circles.
 • Don’t stand in the red rectangles.
 • Don’t stand in anything red.
 • Skill books are not the same as lore books. They have no relationship to each other.
 • You level up active skills, class skill LINES and weapon skill LINES according to what’s on your skill bar at the moment you gain experience points. So it is often advisable to have a special skill bar just for quest turn-in.
 • You level up weapon and armor skill LINES according to what you have equipped at the moment you gain experience points.
 • Other skill LINE leveling does NOT happen the same way. Crafting, Fighter’s Guild, Mage’s Guild, Undaunted, Legerdemain et al. each have their own leveling mechanic. But individual active SKILLS from any line (among those that have active skills) level as described above.
 • Passive skills do not level per se. Your skill line level, however, affects which passive skills you can buy.
 • In addition to skill books and lore books, there are various pieces of paper lying around. These contribute to your understanding of events and backstory. They may also get you new places on your map and so on.
 • I particularly liked the papers that got added to the Prophet’s “office” as the main quest progressed.
 • You can “travel to” another player (actually the wayshrine nearest them) provided they’re grouped with you OR in the same guild as you (and online). This is a great way to get access to new areas of the map. However, there are limitations. Basically, if the description by their name says they’re in one of the explorable regions for your alliance or Coldharbour, you can probably go. Ditto for a second or third alliance region you’ve gained access to after finishing the main quest. (Edit: The limitations referred to in the previous sentence were lifted with One Tamriel. You can travel to any alliance zone immediately upon character creation, if you can find the means to do so.) In other cases you may not be able to “travel to” them. You even get a few experience points for discovery for doing this. (More if you step off the wayshrine you arrive at to also discover the area it’s in.)
 • There are a lot of skyshards in the game you can get to safely even before you’re able to survive combat in their area. If you want extra skill points early, that’s a way to get them.
 • Until the introduction of the Champion Point system, this game didn’t have “traits” the way some other MMOs do. Champion Points (when invested) are sort of like those traits. Armor and weapon “traits” are something completely different. But really, Champion Points are spent on something a lot like passive skills.
 • There are some very useful add-ons to this game. http://www.ESOUI.com is the generic place to learn about them. There are two main tools for managing add-ons. One is Minion.

Note: Any reference to “add-ons” is PC-specific. Other tips should apply more or less equally to all versions of the game.

One approach to leveling a magicka-based sorcerer

I’ve written most of this in other posts, but it’s not all terribly well organized, so here we go again.

This is a guide to solo leveling a magicka-based sorcerer in landscape PvE. Some of your goals for leveling may be to do dungeons, endgame PvE or PvP. Great. This guide mentions how to prepare for those, but it doesn’t actually cover what to do in those venues.

Basic principles underlying this guide include:

 • Spell-casting is fun.
 • Therefore, we want to have lots of magicka available so we can have fun casting spells.
 • That entails squishiness, so a lot of the spell-casting involves staying alive.
 • Pets are useful in staying alive. So we use them.
 • As per my general tips thread, which may well also be of interest to you if you’re looking at this one, it is not necessary to be optimal.
 • In particular, how fast we kill isn’t terribly important. Lots of other things take up more time in the game than actual damage-dealing, which is only a few seconds per fight.
 • Not being in a hurry, we can save ultimate skills for tough fights, rather than using them as part of a regular rotation.
 • Everything in this guide has large margins for error. Success does not depend upon precise play.

I further believe that there are three major categories of skill use when soloing:

 • Doing damage.
 • Avoiding death according to your regular fight plan.
 • “Re-setting” the fight when stuff goes seriously wrong.

Altmer or Breton are the most optimal choices for this playstyle, with Altmer probably being slightly the better of the two. If you enjoy another race more — well, it’s not necessary to be optimal.

As for weapons:

 • This guide uses staffs all the way, except when you want to level up skills for future use. (E.g., one-hand-plus-shield is a popular weapon choice in PvP, specifically for the skill Defensive Stance.)
 • Destruction staff is your main weapon all the way, except that if you briefly use something else at very low levels instead, that’s fine. (The first weapon you get coming out of character creation may be a bow. The first staff you get may be restoration.)
 • Your second weapon when you can use one (Level 15) should be either a restoration or second destruction staff.
 • When I first wrote this guide, fire/inferno was clearly the right element choice for your destruction staff. The elements are more balanced now, but fire is still what I and most other players that I know of prefer.

Once you’ve made sufficient investment in the Light Armor skill line, you’ll want to wear lots of light armor, specifically at least 5 pieces.

Your most important skill lines to level up are Daedric Summoning, Destruction Staff, Storm Calling, Dark Magic and Light Armor. The first 2 are slightly more urgent than the others.

Mage’s Guild can be good to level too, but other than downloading the Lorebooks add-on to make sure you don’t miss any lorebooks, there’s little you can do to rush that one.

Please note: Posts 1-57 were written before the announcement of Patch 2.1. Please see Post 58 for initial comment on the changes it will introduce. In general, while I’ve done a little editing over the months as details of the game change, various specifics in the earlier posts may have become a little obsolete.

How to craft and get better armor

Hi,

Well I started to play this game, but I´m struggling with armor, all I can do is to craft my own (I´m using light armor) But now I can´t craft anything higher than lv. 15 armor, and my character is currently lv. 17, What can I do? How do I get or craft better armor? Also, It´s recommended to purchase armor from sellers or it´s better to craft armor? And how can I change the color or style of the ones that I craft? Sorry for the trouble, I´m new in this kind of things, but I really want to learn.

Thanks!

Introduction

This post is divided into three main sections: Damage Equations, Analytical Results and Numerical Results.

Damage Equations covers the majority of equations needed to accurate calculate damage. It is my impression that the majority of these are readily recognisable by the community so my exposition of it will be brief. In addition, the Unofficial Elder Scroll pages boast a comprehensive build editor that not only calculates statistics for virtually all gear combinations it also clearly and tidily demonstrates the underlying equations used.

Optimisation decisions based of the Damage Equations are covered in Analytical Results. These include champion point optimisation, mundus optimisation, armour trait optimisation and weapon trait optimisation.

While the Analytical Results provide some insight into damage optimisation, some optimisation questions are rather arduous to answer, in particular the impact of proc sets on damage. One approach is with a geometric distribution but this only models the average behaviour and leaves much to be desired. Numerical Results summarises some of my combat simulation findings.

While I will rely on magicka sorcerers for the bulk of my examples, most of the concepts apply equally to other classes.

Part of the 4 Roles, left – right; Magicka DD – Tank – Melee DD and Healer

Note: I am editing this guide daily for new finds on how to improve this build, therefore if you’re kind enough to bookmark this guide you can come back and refer to it every so often and hopefully gain some more new tips that I add. Thanks.

EDIT: 18/06/2017 – added 2 new rotations for those struggling to sustain in trial environments and long fights.

Introduction and Thoughts / Comparison to other Class DPS.

Hello and welcome to By The Beard of Zeus, the ruler of Olympus’ guide to Stamina Templar damage in the new harsh sustained horizon of Morrowind. This guide will completely replace the old Homestead one I made as pretty much nothing is the same anymore. The build, rotation and CP is all so very different a new edition was needed. I have had a lot of help from members of my raiding guild with this build so I would like to credit them all along the way as needed.

As of 30/05/2017 I am seeing so many people and guides out there putting out “dummy humpers”, and by that I mean builds specifically designed to hit high on a test dummy so they can circle jerk and measure themselves by linking higher numbers. This is not the aim of Zeus. I am primarily a raider and everything I do is with group content in mind. Therefore don’t leave comments saying “this is higher DPS gear” yes I know, Kragh is better solo, but not in a group etc and the rotation is simpler to allow for greater reactions in trials environments. The new raid is very harsh in terms of incoming damage and therefore strolling in with a dummy humper will see you absolutely destroyed. Dead DPS = No DPS.

From recent tests and hanging around by dummies with guild mates, it seems Stamina is a lot better at attaining single target DPS than magicka this patch at the cost of AoE and potential survivability. The parses linked in this guide are attained with extremely little buffs when other classes have little bonus’ e.g. Minor Brutality DK, Minor Savagery NB and Magicka shock damage proc’ing minor vulnerability and potentially off-balance. I would also like to say that even if you take away all the DPS number humping and crunching, this character is extremely fun to play, which at the end of the day is all this game is really about. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

On a final note, this guide is just as much for beginners as it is end game veterans so please do not be offended if I’m saying some really obvious things, just skim read and ignore. This also applies to anything you may think is beyond your current level of playing, don’t worry, ignore it or leave a comment and build on it at a later date, the game is not a rush and many people advance at different paces, many thanks.

The Basics

The food we are using is either a choice of Dubious Camoran Throne drink for sustain but less damage or the old HP and Stamina food for damage, but less sustain. We are using the Thief Mundus stone and all passives are bought for the 3 class skill lines and DW/Bow lines too. Don’t forget to buy the fighters guild passives as well. Also don’t forget to read the whole guide in case you missed something important, usually questions I get asked are displayed in the guide somewhere.

Race

The race is even less of a concern with the release of Morrowind than it has ever been before. I am a Redguard in this build because it is what my character has always been. However you can now go for whatever you want. The Redguard passive Adrenaline Rush is now only 792 Stamina every 5 seconds which is nearly half what it used to be in my Agility set up Homestead. Therefore choose what you want, Redguard, Khajiit, Orc, it doesn’t matter as long as their passives generally relate to stamina orientated things. (Obviously don’t be Plebbicus and be a Stamina High Elf or something, pls.)

The benefits of each viable class are as follows; In my opinion the best. (Just my opinion)

1.) Redguard

- 792 Stamina back every 5 seconds = 158 Stamina Recovery in essence.

- 9% Stamina Recovery

- 10% Maximum Stamina

Notes: My favourite for looks and a good mixture of sustain and damage, even if it’s not as good as it used to be it still boasts the most viable class option to play.

2.) Orc

- Max Health and Stamina by 6%

- Healing Received by 5% and Health Recovery 20%

- 4% Melee attack damage, reduced sprint cost by 12% and increased sprint speed by 10%

Notes: These can also look really badass with the Spiderkith skin from vCoS and boast a healthy pool to health and stamina. This is very important if you choose to use sustain food as you will have to enchant your armour to buff your HP up. This will lessen the need for those glyphs and will increase the amount of stamina you can put back on. The 4% melee attack damage will affect your light and heavy attacks as well as rending Slashes, Re-arming Trap and Biting Jabs.

3.) Wood Elf

- 21% Stamina Recovery

- Max Stamina by 6% and poison and disease resistance by 1465.

- Reduces Stealth detection radius by 3m and Stealth damage by 10%

Notes: I decided to put this controversially as 3rd ahead of the Khajiit for a reason. In my DPS tests I found myself thinking the whole time “Man if I had the sustain from last patch I’d hit like such a truck” and that’s why the Wood Elf jumps up places in this patch for me. The 21% recovery is insane, couple that with the new sustain food and you’ll be laughing, maybe so much so you will barely need to heavy.

Fashion Scrolls notes: They have the potential to look like shit so be careful, gotta look like swag out on the battlefield.

4.) Khajiit

- Healthy Recovery 20% and Stamina Recovery 10%

- Reduce Stealth detection radius by 3m and Stealth damage by 10%

- 8% Weapon Critical rating.

Notes: Just because this is 4th doesn’t mean it’s not as good, I just prioritised different things. This race is your Omega Daddy of damage, 8% weapon critical is absolutely monstrous however leaves you wanting in terms of max resource pools and mediocre recovery. If you can sustain this bad boy though it hits amazing. The problem is, you can’t.

Fashion Scrolls notes: These can look fucking cool with the Dro M’athra skin and the face slider all the way maxed out on Heroic.

Champion Points

Blue Constellation:

61 – Thaumaturge

64 – Mighty

44 – Precise Strikes

21 – Piercing

20 – Master at Arms

Green Constellation:

20 – Warlord

75 – Mooncalf

75 – Tenacity

20 – Shadow Ward

20 – Tumbling

Red Constellation:

52 – Ironclad

49 – Hardy

49 – Elemental Defender

48 – Thick Skinned

11 – Quick Recovery

1 – Spare add to any.

(Thanks to @iJonno for the red CP arrangement)

If you’re not maximum champion points take your current champion points and divide it by 630. Then multiple the value by each of the values I described above to get how much you should put into each tree. Adjust values in the trees to make your number as close to .00 as possible as anything decimal above an integer is rounded down. So for example I have 356 Champion points, divide by 630 = 0.565 and I want to put points into elemental defender which is 50. Times the 2 together to make 28.25 points into ED which gives you 7.28% in the tree. I would round down to 27 points to get 7.07% and save the extra point to round other trees up to balance it out. It will take a lot of tweaking but is the only real option I have to altering the set up for non CP630 builds.

Gear and Item Set ups

Ok so we are using 5x Twice Fanged Serpent, 2x Velidreth and 5x Hundings Rage with 1x Maelstrom Bow. The real beauty of this build is that you can use player crafted daggers, which as we all by now know it is pure agony to farm content for months to get weapons to a set. It also means you can choose your own style on most of the armour and weapons so you don’t look like a pleb while roaming Tamriel. The critical strike rate from Hundings is just raw power as well it is lovely.

EDIT: 19/06/2017: I actually need to test Selene’s as I’ve heard from people it’s actually really good on a Stamplar, this being said I think Veli will out perform it in fights with Adds as the proc can hit up to 3 targets.

Alternatives: I understand not everyone has access to all this gear so here are some viable alternatives;

-5x Spriggans, 1k penetration lower than TFS but is cheap as fuck to buy.

-5x Vicious Ophidian, For extra sustain and minor slayer.

-5x Alkosh, terrible DPS since it can’t crit but is nice group buff if your tanks don’t wanna wear it.

-5x Night Mother’s Gaze

-5x Strength of The Automaton

-2x Kragh (Careful not to overpenetrate in group content)

-2x Selene’s, Good dps and looks really cool when a bear proc’s. (fashion scrolls #1 choice)

This is not the best setup for Morrowind I need to add. To get the best DPS you need 2x War Machine daggers in sharpened, which you’re looking at this and thinking “oh fuck that, not another vMoL grindfest, I thought I was free!”. You are gonna need to slave away nHoF my friends. However you hit pretty hard using this setup so do not worry. War Machine will be the undisputed meta once everyone has it in good traits and I’ll explain why with the rotation.

Also don’t use vMA DW this patch, before they were better but now since you need to heavy in your rotation to sustain you can’t keep up the Rapid Strikes – DoT combo enough. You also break a 5 piece by using them and lose out on 2 enchantments on your DW. When combining sets together try keep to the 5-5-2 combo. By that I mean 2x 5-piece sets and a 2-Piece Monster Set. The more sets you mix in the lower your dps will be.

If you don’t have a vMA bow please use a masters, failing that a sharpened player crafted Hundings, this will mean that you make your bow bar 4 piece Hundings and not 3, dampening the DPS loss blow from not using a vMA bow. I cannot stress enough how important the MA bow is, if you don’t have it, get it before anything else on this entire guide, the DPS is so damn high it’s great. The traits for Masters/MA bows are as follows.

Sharpened > Precise > Nirnhoned > Infused > Any vMA bow > Master Bows > Use Hundings Sharpened.

With the release of Morrowind and the increased power of the vMA bow you can actually use any trait vMA over a sharpened masters, it’s better dps.

Enchant all Jewellery with Weapon Damage, if you need sustain use the food not glyphs. If you still can’t sustain, heavy some more. ZoS Approved.

Now when calculating which monster set and traits to use you really have to ask questions of your tanks and other members debuffs. The general resistance for most trial monsters and bosses, including the dummy, is 18,200. This number will make you able to add all the debuffs up. The thing’s that give resistances debuffs are as follows.

- Major Fracture, 5280

- Crusher / Infused / Infused + Torug’s Pact, 1622, 1946, 2530.

- Minor Fracture, 1320

- Alkosh, 3010

- Night Mother’s Gaze, 2580

- Sunderflame, 3240

- Sharpened Weapons, 2580 or 5160 for 2H / DW.

- Kr’agh Monster Set, 1935.

- Twice Fanged Snake – 5000

Total = 30,055. This is why it’s important to add stuff up and not over penetrate, however don’t worry realistically you won’t ever have Sunderflame or Torugs enhanced Crusher. Therefore I recommend the only thing you need to not do in group content is wear Kr’agh. Yes your dummy parse will be worse but this is about the greater good. Also if you are lucky enough to have someone running Night Mother’s Gaze, then switch to one Precise Dagger, however be prepared for unavoidable over penetration on your bow bar.

A big question a lot of inexperienced players might be thinking is “Why is it so important to not over penetrate?”. Because simply you’re wasting damage. Don’t make something that’s purposefully not optimal, it’s a waste of the already large amount of time needed to build your character up. If you have excess penetration swap to precise weapons or sets with more raw power such as Hunding’s Rage or Twice Born Star.

Make your armour types 6-1-0. 6 Medium, 1 Heavy with your heavy piece being your chest for maximum resistances. Why heavy? because we get 2% max health and stamina from the Undaunted Mettle passive as well as an additional 2% HP from Heavy Armour passives making one piece 4% more HP over the 1.5% critical you’d get from a piece of medium, tit for tat, choose what works best for you, but this is what I prefer to make myself more survivable. If you choose to run TBS for various reasons you can go 7 medium as the set comes with an inherent HP passive.

Abilities and bar order

Bar one – Duel Wield (Put these in any order on your bar it doesn’t matter)(Icons are on the SuperStar photo above)

1.) Re-Arming Trap

2.) Blade Cloak

3.) Biting Jabs

4.) Rending Slashes

5.) Power of the light

Ultimate: Flawless Dawnbreaker

Bar Two – Bow back bar

1.) Restoring Focus

2.) Endless Hail

3.) Poison Injection

4.) Razor Caltrops

5.) Repentance

Ultimate: Crescent Sweep (why War Machine will be best in slot, 72 cost Ultimate)

For Raids: MAKE SURE TO KEEP CLOAK UP 100% AND YOUR RUNE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. During trials these need to be up 100% so fit them into your rotation even if it means a DPS loss. The cloaks 25% AoE damage reduction is ludicrously powerful as well as the runes 8% damage reduction (not stackable with circle of protection). These got a buff with Morrowind to the point I feel safer on this Stamina character in trials than my shield spamming Sorc and healer.

Rotation, Parses and Damage

Rotation Video: https://youtu.be/C1HpO1oKotM

EDIT 19/06/2017: The rotation video is horrendously out of date and is far from optimal.

You have two options with rotations, the “I don’t care about my stamina, burst pls” and the “infinite sustain”.

If you’re looking at a one minute fight and you wanna rip a juicy parse or for example you enter a bosses execute phase with full resources and need to nuke then you would use this rotation:

LA / Hail / LA / Caltrops / LA / Ulti / BS / LA / RS / LA / PotL / LA / Trap / LA / Jabs / LA / Jabs / LA / Jabs / LA / PotL / BS / Repeat

Use Poison inject below 50% and as the last skill you cast on your bow bar.

You’ll also hit like a train for the duration

The key to getting high numbers in parses with this however relies on your ability to weave correctly. You also NEED to light attack on your bow bar to proc the Hawk Eye passive increasing the damage of your bow abilities by 5% for each light or heavy attack stacking up to 5 times.

Below 50% add Poison Injection after Caltrops and after Ultimate if ready, this is to make sure all poison injection ticks are on your DW bar.

This will mean you can proc Hawk Eye 4 times without destroying your rotation. Light attacks also deal massive damage so light weave as much as possible anyway. I also see people doing 2 light attacks in a row to increase the uptime on Hawk Eye, do not do this, it is a DPS loss.

Morrowind Bubble Wrap infinite sustain rotations:

Duel Wield: LA / Hail / LA / Caltrops / LA / Ulti / BS / HA / RendSla / HA / PoTL / HA / Trap / HA / Jabs / LA / Jabs / LA / PoTL / BS / Begin from start.

2H: LA / Hail / LA / Caltrops / LA / Ulti / BS / HA / Brawler / HA / Trap / HA / Jabs / HA / PoTL / BS / Begin from start

Below 50% add Poison Injection after Caltrops and after Ultimate if ready, this is to make sure all poison injection ticks are on your DW bar.

HA = Heavy Attack      BS = Bar Swap

LA = Light Attack        PoTL = Power of the Light

RendSla = Rending Slashes (captain obvious)

If using these rotations you can literally play any race, the sustain from Redguard isn’t needed so be a High Elf for all I care, this is your chance to roleplay as anything without worrying about performance. However to fully take advantage of the extra sustain be a Khajiit or Orc for maximum damage.

To prove this works I killed the 52,000,000 Target Centurion on my own with no extra help or buffs to prove a point.

Next person to give me the excuse that they’re hitting too low because of sustain or Morrowind nerfs gets a slap on the wrist ;)

Parses for 3m and 6m Dummys are as follows for the burst / stamina dump rotation. The only buff I got was Major Fracture since Stam DKs get it from Noxious Breath and it makes it easier to compare. For a list of specific buffs each class gets look below, this will make it easier to compare. Also don’t be discouraged when you see another class hit higher than you, it’s probably because they have different buffs which is so often the case with Stamplar.

Stamina:

Dragonknights: Noxious Breath (Major Fracture 5280 Physical Penetration) Earthen Heart (Minor Brutality 5% Weapon damage).

Nightblade: Surprise Attack (Major Fracture 5280 Physical Penetration) NB Passives (Minor Savagery 3.1% Weapon Critical) and Minor Berserk (8% Damage Done). This is why you’ll see Nightblades hitting 45-46k dummys. Don’t be discouraged, minor berserk is given by combat prayer from healers in raids so you’ll get it too.

Templar: Minor Fracture (1320 Physical Penetration)

Sorcerer: Nothing.

Magickas will get off-balance if their elemental blockade is lightning. This is important because 75 points into the ritual tree gives a 10% damage boost to enemies that are off-balance. Shock damage also Proc’s the lightning status effect “Minor Vulnerability” which is a further 8% damage done.

With all this is mind it is essential that you try to equal up the buffs if you want to know how well you’re doing against other players and take their parses with a pinch of salt when you know what buffs they are getting.

On an average mix between the 2 rotations you can expect to hit roughly

When comparing with magDks and Sorcs with shock and off balance I feel like this parse was necessary. This is with Fracture and off balance [Needs updating]

I’m still working on Trial parses however since our guild is working tirelessly to improve our Halls of Fabrication score we are not able to park a boss and link a good parse. It’s mechanics > DPS for now and I will update it as soon as I get the chance. However if you hit this high on a dummy then in a raid with Minor Vulnerability, Combat Prayer, Major Force, Horn resources, Minor Brutality and Savagery you should easily hit 50k+ Single Target if you don’t die and don’t fuck up your rotation, easier said than done, but aim for the stars.

Remember since Stamplars don’t have a form of Major Brutality you need weapon power potions or a DK with igneous weapons. However weapon power pots are 45 each on the EU Megaserver, so no excuses for those cheap shit potions you find on the ground in pledges.

Honourable Mentions

-@KieranWoods93 – Major Fracture Whore and best MagPlar EU

-@GethemShauna – Guild Clubhouse.

-@nemesis18 – Stamplar Love and appreciation

-Thanks for Reading, any questions @ConnorWoods and enjoy :)

Anti-cheaters Crusade – Copied from ESO forum

Copying and pasting a post from ESO below before the thread gets deleted!
Hello, my friends – players of ESO.
I’m here for one reason – economics of this game close to the end. And i offer all of you start our anti-cheaters crusade.

What the reason of this, you ask? Of Course i will answer to you – it’s bcs some players outplaying the game systems.

How it possible, you ask? It became possible by 1 main reason – ZoS team ignoring most part of reports on cheaters.

What currently going on, you ask? All this is simple – group of players ***k the system, botting and duplicate the items (resources, tempers and rare items like “Aetherial Dust”).

View post on imgur.com

Who is our “heroes” and how they do it? Our brave “heroes” is the man 25 year old and the woman 20 years old. Both are russian. From Rzhev city. They lead 2 guilds: “RU Trade” and “Shadow Rain Trade”. 1st one looks like normal guild but a slightly lower i will post some proofs about it. 2nd one used most partly for gold selling to other players. Maybe they have a helpers (smn like popular russian streamer @irbis216 – he on high position inside guild). Also they have a account on gold selling site – MichaelMyers ( https://funpay.ru/chips/14/ ).

View post on imgur.com

How they make gold? They cheap selling all resources stuff in many guilds by many accounts. They enlarge their guild bank from 35m+ to 100m+ for 5 days.

View post on imgur.com

View post on imgur.com

View post on imgur.com

How they got this items? Botting and items duplicating (dup cheat). At the end of the topic you can find proofs (no one can got so many just with farming, only 2 ways – bots or cheats). They doing this on both servers – EU and NA.

View post on imgur.com

What i wanna ask from players? Players (who wanna playing to normal game where all this trash banned) need to report them, kick them and their twinks from guilds and no give them any chances.

What i wanna ask from ZoS team? If you are not fix this problem all in-game economics ***ked up soon. You should ban this guilds officers and all their twinks by IP or sng like this. You should disband this guilds with withdraw and destroying all amount of gold. You already lose many good players due your inactivity. And number of players who will leave game will only increase. i just remind you what bots not buying crowns and all this stuff for crowns. They no need houses, personalities, masks etc. They need only transfer gold into real money.

Screenshots time!

Which sucks because I like checking this website on breaks when I’m bored. :(

To avoid a thousand little threads that can be resolved with one post and source link, let’s just throw every question might you have in this thread and keep the forums clean for actual dicussions.

How to use this thread:

 1. Try Google, Tamriel Foundry’s search function or have a look at our Development FAQ before you ask a question. Check the frequently asked questions further down as well. Otherwise we’ll have to answer the same question every other page.
 2. Answer other people’s question only if you you know the answer. Wrong or unclear answers will be removed. Try to provide a source.
 3. This is not a thread for discussion or smalltalk. Anything that isn’t a question, an answer or the opening post will be removed.

1 Sharpened Moondancer Lightning Destro Staff

Bar setup

Main bar (vMA Staff): Inner Light, Cripple, Swallow Soul, Merciless Resolve, Elemental Blockade. Ultimate – Shooting Star.

Execute bar/AoE (Off Bar Staff): Inner Light (Shield replaces this if you need it), Twisting Path, Impale, Shock Clench, Siphoning Attacks. Ultimate – Soul Harvest

Rotation (Safe = 2 Assasin’s Wills):

Siphoning Attacks>Merciless Resolve>Meteor

Step 1: LA>Elemental Blockade>LA>Cripple>Bar Swap Cancel
Step 2: LA>Twisting Path>LA>Shock Clench>Bar Swap Cancel

Step 4: LA>Elemental Blockade>LA>Cripple>Bar Swap Cancel

Step 5: LA>Twisting Path>LA>Shock Clench>LA>Siphoning Attacks>Bar Swap Cancel

Step 6: LA>Assasin’s Will>LA>Merciless Resolve>LA>Swallow Soul>LA Swallow Soul

Restart Step 1

When the target reaches 25% Keep your Merciless Resolve, Blockade, Cripple and Twisting Path Up and do LA>Impale.

Rotation (OP = 3 Assasin’s Wills):

Siphoning Attacks>Meteor>Merciless Resolve

Step 1: LA>Elemental Blockade>LA>Cripple>Bar Swap Cancel
Step 2: LA>Twisting Path>LA>Shock Clench>Bar Swap Cancel
Step 3: LA>Assasin’s Will>LA>Swallow Soul>LA>Swallow Soul>LA>Swallow (If Shooting Star is up replace 1 swallow with it)
Step 4: LA>Elemental Blockade>LA>Cripple>LA>Assasin’s Will>Bar Swap Cancel
Step 5: LA>Twisting Path>LA>Shock Clench>LA>Siphoning Attacks>Bar Swap Cancel>LA Swallow Soul>LA>Assasin’s Will>LA>Merciless Resolve

Restart at Step 1

When the target reaches 25% Keep your Merciless Resolve, Blockade, Cripple and Twisting Path Up and do LA>Impale.

Reasoning:

1. Why Ilambris?

With dual staves it gives the best damage out of all of the monster sets.

2. Why do we reapply DoT’s early?
With this rotation you end up losing 3 ticks off of your Twisting Path and 1 tick off of the shock clench DoT. This loss is morre than mitigated by a clear rotation that is static and allows you to have 2 Assasin Will procs within each rotation.

3. Why only 2 Assasin’s wills?

While on a target dummy 3 Assasin’s Wills is not only possible, but fairly easy to accomplish, the same thing could not be said in a trial setting. One little missed weave and you lose your buff. Also by using 3 Assasin’s Wills in one Merrciless proc we are faced with a non-static rotation which makes things difficult.

4. Why Swallow Soul?

For sustain.

5  Why not 75 in thaum?

Magblade is the inly magicka class (not sure about wardens) that should not have 75 points into thaum. Why not you ask? Because it is a giant dps loss. When you run a no CP analysis on your rotation  your dots deal only around 30% of your dps (+/- 3), so the CO calculator suggests a 28 point value into thaum and a whole lot more into Master at Arms. By taking nearly 50 points out of other trees to accomodate off balance CP you are severely lowering your dps, since most of it vones from firect damage attacks  suffice it to say changing CP to the one I listed in my guide  automatically added ne 4k dps…

 Introduction

Hello, and welcome to my nightblade guide! First and foremost, I’d like to say a little bit of who I am, to give you a little bit of insight into my knowledge about this game. I’ve been raiding with Hodor for around two years now, and I’ve been playing nightblade for the most part, but also quite a fair bit of dragonknight, and sorcerer. I’ve gotten some parses on certain bosses that I’ve felt very good about, and feel the builds that I produce have alot of potential in them, which I again think reflects on the leaderboards. For the past six months or so, I’ve completely left nightblade, but I’ve picked it up as of this patch with the recent changes I’ll be talking about later in the build. Keep in what is written in this build is still subject to change, and my tests are not finalized. Without further adue, lets just jump into the build!

Core

So, this is our bread and butter! Lets start from the top, which alot of people will ask, why not use Llambris combined with lightning clench? Simply put, it’s not more DPS. Valkyn Skoria and Grothdarr will provide much better results in terms of damage. The choise between Skoria and Grothdarr is something I need to test further, but as of now I’d highly suggest to have them both and switching dependant if the boss fight allows you to stay in melee range, or if you need to stay ranged. If you’re lazy, just stick with Skoria.

Onto our mainset, scathing mage! Alot of nightblades love this set, simply because it procs of Twisting Path’s DoT effect, allowing you to get an extremely high uptime thus giving you a high ammount of spell damage, and spell crit. Optional sets here could be Twice Born Star and using the thief and the shadow, which will give you a little bit less DPS, but still something that you can compete with. Julianos is also an alternative.

For the jewelry and our mainhand, we want to use the same set so we can benefit of four set bonuses, minmaxing our stats as best as we can. In my case, im running Infallible Aether, but Moondancer will provide the same results if not better. Sharpened is a MUST. On our offhand, we will be using a maelstrom staff, im still testing abit with lightning or inferno, but as of right now I prefer lightning. Both works, but having a lightning staff on trashpacks is essential.

These are the stats you can expect with using the sets that I am using, completely unbuffed. Nothing too fancy, just the usual.

Mundus Stone

The Thief
We will be using the thief for extra spellcrit in this build, having more crit with a high aggressive warhorn uptime, and crit modifiers such as trap beast, is gonna help us out alot.

Skills

Lets talk about the skills abit, there’s alot of potential changes come here, so stay updated. Our mainbar is what we can call our buffbar, we’ll be having merciless resolve alongside with siphoning attacks, and our shield which can be swapped out with the likes of trap beast or destructive clench if you’d like that. The spammable is something im still testing, but as of now I’ll be using swallow soul as it’s way cheaper. We will NOT be using soul assault as our ultimate, but we will be using elemental rage instead to benefit from ancient knowledge.

On our second bar, it’s gonna be our AoE, execute and DoT bar. I really like having these skills on the same bar, as it gives us alot of advantages such as a clean rotation (Path 11s, Blockade 8s, Cripple 8s) it allows us to not swap bars whatsoever when we’re executing and AoE’ing, making this build very clean and simple to play.

Champion Points

Thanks to @Magna-G and @xBlackroxe for the help here, this spread was mainly put together by @xBlackroxe.

Use this spread if your group has more than two blockade of storms

The Apprentice

– 40 Elfborn

– 43 Elemental Expert

– 8 Spell Erosion

The Atronach

– 44 Master-at-Arms

The Ritual

– 75 Thaumaturge

I’ll only be covering the blue champion points here, as I change my red and green ones up all the time dependant on the trial I go to. Nothing too spectacular here, I’ll be updating the explanation abit further in the future though.

Use this spread if your group has less than two blockade of storms, or alot of heavy attack builds

The Apprentice

– 56 Elemental Expert

– 51 Elfborn

– 12 Spell Erosion

The Atronach

– 62 Master-at-Arms

– 13 Staff Expert

The Ritual

– 16 Thaumaturge

Races

– Dunmer and Highelf are both viable options, and honestly I don’t see alot of difference between them. Play whatever you want :P.

Parses

More to be added.

Final Words

I’d like to give a big thank you to the entire Hodor, especially the members of the hodor core group. I’d like to give my love, @Hjelmi a big kiss too for keeping me alive during all of this, I don’t know how you manage it. Also, big thanks to @Selawa for helping me brainstorm, @Magna-Ge for helping me out with champion points and @Blackroxee for betraying nightblades and going to the sorcerer side. For those of you that don’t see your names here, you know who you are, and I highly appreciate it. Now, go out there and make Nightblades considered a strong DPS class, and remember as always, FULLFIST!

– if you feel like having too much resources, go with spell dmg glyphs on the jewels or also with cost reduction if that works better for you

Pirate Skeleton reduces incoming damage by 30%, proc chance got increased to 8%, from 6%.

Helmet you find in vet Blackheart Haven from last boss and shoulders from pledges (or Cyrodiil vendor).

3. Skills

main bar

Breath of Life: Is your main and only healing skill, immediately full health again.

Channeled Focus: Grants you resistance, gives you magicka back and increases your healing done, make sure to always stand in it.

Inner Light: Grants more magicka and spell crit, nice to have.

Repentance: Good to restore stamina (and health) in fight for blocking, roll dodging. Also increases regen when slotted.

Structured Entropy: Grants you 20% more spell damage and health, means more healing done and more damage in general. Keep it up.

Remembrance: Must have for a healer and main ultimate for this build. This one saved my life several times. If BoL just isn’t enough anymore or when you’re out of magicka (though shouldn’t happen often), then use this.

back bar

Radiant Oppression: When a target has low health and you don’t have to heal then you use this, very nice damage.

Elusive Mist: Must have skill. You can avoid a lot of damage and flee in dangerous situations. Best skill against root if you don’t have stamina. You need to be vampire to get this skill.

Inner Light: Grants more magicka and spell crit, nice to have.

Aurora Javelin/Toppling Charge/Destructive Reach: Throws a spear which knocks back enemy./Rushes to an enemy and stuns and sets off balance./Stuns the enemy (depends on your staffs type).

Ritual of Retribution/Extended Ritual: Cleanses negative effects.

Solar Prison/Eye of the Storm: Nice damage reduction for your group and damage on enemies, and allies can use synergy which does even more damage./Strong damage ultimate.

4. Attribute Points

All points into magicka.

5. Mundus Stone

Important to have Atronach Mundus Stone which increases your magicka regeneration. Since we need a lot of magicka regeneration cause you sometimes have to use several BoL in a row.

I usually run some unconventional builds in PVP (I play non-CP). This is one build I’ve used recently and had some fun with, as I was getting bored with the s/b & 2h heavy meta.

Body gear is 5 piece Marksmen, all impen since its medium

1 heavy/1 light Skoria monster set (I run impen here too)

Jewelry is 3 Seventh Legion

Sword/Shield are Seventh Legion

Then a Maelstrom Bow (mine is powered, I would run something else if I had another but I dont)

The key is to use Marksmen for the stamina regen and cost reduction plus addition bow damage (main attack weapon), while Seventh Legion on S/B is for defense. Skoria is chosen because it works well with DK passives and procs off of DOTs for which there are many.

Front Bar (defense)

Reverb Bash, Ign Shield, Vigor, Heroic Slash, Absorb Magic, Ferocious Leap ULTI

Backbar (assault)

Arrow Barrage, Poison Injection, Volatile Armor, Acid Spray, Ign Wep, Flawless Dawnbreaker ULTI (interchangeable with Bow ULTI)

The key is to keep up your buffs, when getting heat remember to throw up Absorb Magic and block until Seventh Legion procs then switch to bow with Seventh Legion damage buff and use your bow dots hopefully proccing Skoria in the process. I usually run solo but this also works well in groups.
